We have Literally Drafted SEVEN cornerbacks since Josh Normans depature. Is 2018 the Year we Finally "Figure it Out?"

Norman wasn't the only secondary we let go since 2015.  Tillman, Harper,  Benwikere, Boston, MClain, and now Coleman are all gone from that 2015 season.  Thieves avenue wasn't all Norman.

True. It was just that pulling Norman's tag just before the draft led DG to "shop hungry" draft 3 corners.  It was a mess. Ignored other positions of need (OL) and started 2 rookie CBs who got torched much if 2016.

If we'd kept Josh for 1 more year, we would have been in better shape

I agree.  It would have been expensive, and we could have afforded it then.  But so many other things went wrong that year, Cam out with concussion and then an injured shoulder, Oher out for the year with Remmers at LT... Ryan out for I forget how many games, Gano not kicking well, and we had harder schedule.  I'm not sure we  would have been in good enough shape to make the playoffs, even if we kept Norman.  We lost a lot of very close games though... maybe.  If Worely would have improved instead of enjoying the nightlife, things could have been different as well.

    • Smitty carrying that tank around...can't stay young forever.
    • While I agree with you in spirit my gut and my heart says I'm not falling for this again until I see consistent results across the entire upcoming season. Then I'll breathe a sigh of relief and truly feel better about the future.
    • After some time to process and also in light of other small markets being successful and not requiring top overall picks to compete. This years finals looming large. While I readily acknowledge the league office clearly despises our franchise and has absolutely no qualms about us getting the short end of any stick in the draft lottery. The Hornets may just be doomed regardless due to their own mismanagement and inability to draft and develop legitimate playoff worthy talent. And we seemingly always pick the wrong player in the draft. I mean at this point we can even take a hard look at the 2020 draft and someone like Haliburton going pick 12 while Ball went 3rd. Did we draft the wrong guy or are we just that inept at any level of talent development or is it a mixture of both? Looks the latter right now.
