What if Marty Hurney

How do you think Hurney got the job in the first place?  He was never qualified.  He was good at following orders and keeping his mouth shut.

But I digress.  I gave the guy the benefit of the doubt in his first stent here.  I have no desire to see him resurrect his career with the Panthers.  I want to see a professional take a shot at it if you don't mind.

I can agree that he got the job by association more than qualification.  He was not very good in fact he was terrible.   I believe JR had something to do with it too.

But like many coaches that were terrible at their first stint as a HC they improved (ie Billicheat).

My point is, if most of the moves he made pays off.  How can you fire him because he sucked a decade ago?

I have always been on the bandwagon that we didn't need him back and hated when it was announced If he does well.  He should be allowed to stay if the new owners don't have a different direction they want to go.

No, he must go regardless.  If this draft pans out so be it.  Good for us because he owes the team one great draft.   Marty must go.

And there you have it, folks. There's no logic to any of this, only a cold and implacable hatred. He calls himself Jon Snow but he acts more like a White Walker.

Hurney cannot please these people. He just nailed another draft, as most rational people predicted, yet here comes the horde again demanding his head.

Don't listen to Gettlemaniacs, don't trust Gettlemaniacs, don't let your guard down around Gettlemaniacs - they only want revenge for their fat and perverted god. The Panthers mean nothing to them.

    • I mean, if Moore really wants out, then it would behoove the Bears to make it happen sooner than later. X is a lot younger and cheaper, and may be a better fit for Johnson's musings than a disgruntled, unnecessary, overpaid vet. If they can dump his salary and maybe get a fourth or so in return, it may be worth it to them. As for development, I'm not concerned. You're talking about a seeming bust, a day three guy and a UDFA. They are developing relative to their ceilings. I doubt any of them will ever command the coverage, money, or the respect that Moore has acquired. He's a tier above them. Yes, even X.
    • IMO, if Ceedee plays against us, the game probably goes the other way. Same with Tyreek Hill and the Dolphins. Our team just isn't designed to beat teams with two high level receivers like that. But when you look at the league, how many teams really have two guys of that caliber?  There's nothing wrong with defensive adjustments, but sometimes I think a lot of fans want Evero to call a different play like a game on madden, and defensive football just isn't like that. That said, I thought we did a much better job this season against the Cowboys of flipping Jaycee and at least making them work for it, opposed to last season when they literally just lined CeeDee up on the other side of the field every single snap.  For us to just straight up switch to consistent man coverage, or a different zone, or whatever, we likely would consistently need different personnel on the field. Doing it a few times a game is a gamble and can work, but if we consistently run man coverage against the Cowboys, eventually a RB is going to beat a linebacker, or something of that nature with our personnel. Part of the reason Evero likes this scheme is that, while we have our defaults and presets, what we do is very multiple, and you can do a lot of different things pre and post snap. We are a challenging defense to read. But as you said, if guys are getting beat, it doesn't really matter what you call.
