European Vacation Advice

I've been to Barcelona on vacation, albeit almost 30 years ago!  I enjoyed it immensely for its culture, history and architecture.  As I recall, the food and sangria were rather enjoyable, the beaches weren't bad either.

When on vacation, I prefer to relax and immerse myself in a few areas of interest rather than doing the typical tourist thing of attempting to see everything possible.  Being rushed from one location to the next and feeling exhausted at the end of the day is not my idea of an enjoyable time.

Barcelona and the surrounding countryside provided plenty of opportunities for sights to see and things to do.  I think you'll have a great time.

You've likely already seen most of these suggestions, but on the off chance that you haven't, I don't think you could go wrong with any of them...

I'll also put a plug in for The National Geographic Channel's Genius program.  This seasons focus is on Pablo Picasso.  http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/u/kctSfmKWRb-agVhYxQkvp0sXXTU5q15lkKW4Y0IwuxK6tjQd902ZcFq8aM3cYw/

Among the city’s many cultural attractions in Barcelona is the famous Pablo Picasso Museum, housing a sizeable collection of the Spanish artist’s lifeworks. If you’re an art enthusiast or at all interested in the life and works of Picasso, this museum is central to understanding his career and the extensiveness of his talent. Located on the Carrer de Montcada, the city’s most important stretch of mediaeval architecture, the Pablo Picasso Museum Barcelona building is a site to see in itself.   http://www.bizflats.com/blog/things-to-do-in-barcelona-spain-attractions-activities

I loved Greece when I went, but that was 2008 so a lot has probably changed. I took a train from Athens to Corinth and spotted a gem of a beach as we were crossing the Corinth Canal. I believe it was called Loutraki Beach.

Also, Greek pizza >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Italian pizza.
