Curtis Samuel participating in individuals drills today.

Big day for rookie TE Ian Thomas, with Chris Manhertz absent. Was carted off yesterday after appearing to tweak something. Rivera said he would get x-rays.

Accidentally contact from Matt Kalil sends Cam Newton to the ground. HE’S OK!

Cam Newton knocked down rolling right in goal line passing drill by Matt Kalil. Friendly fire. He’s OK.

Matt Kalil accidentally clipped Cam Newton as the QB was rolling out to throw and he went to the ground BUT HES FINE NOBODY PANIC

Collision between Matt Kalil and Cam Newton sends Cam to the turf. Everyone holds breathe. Can't say I have ever seen that happen before in camp.

Showtime Sheed (Rasheed Bailey) with the catch of the day so far from Heinecke in the back of the end zone

Not sure he got both feet down, but what an effort from Rasheed Bailey to climb the ladder back end zone for the red zone TD.

Damien Parms picked off Cam Newton, so one might say Newton.... .....passed to Parms

Rookie tight end Thomas having a very good day with the 1s. Manhertz may want to get back asap.

Touchdown , Cam to Smith. Feels weird to type that again.

Torrey “OG” Smith with a nice catch in traffic for a red zone TD from Newton.

Torrey Smith hangs on to a catch in heavy traffic and his Charlotte roommate, Rasheed Bailey, gets hyped - “I SEE YOU, OG!”

    • I agree but he honestly has gotten better about this. Used to be he’d do it like 4-5 times a game, now it’s like 2-3. Overall I’m incredibly happy with his game, his D has been solid and when he is playing his role he’s a solid scorer and one of the few guys who can consistently finish at the rim and provide that threat. Plus he’s electric and LaMelo loves him. Going into the season I was sure he would just be a stop gap here but now I’m reconsidering and could see him continue to be a “core” piece here. Obviously not on the level of the other starters but he is an important cog for this team. We felt his missed presence during his and Moose’s suspensions.
    • Philly will be a bigger challenge than the Knicks were IMO. George and Embiid are back, not sure about Maxey but Embiid alone is a nightmare matchup for us and Moose. We’ve never really done well against him. Celtics added Tatum but honestly not sure they’re all that much better with him right now than they were when we whooped them a few weeks ago. We should be able to at the very least split these 2, hopefully take both.
