Hurricanes Trade Victor Rask for Wild's Niederreiter

It's a win for sure. We've got cap room, idk why it's so hard to sign Ferland. My guess is Dundon isn't as open with his wallet as he said he was going to be. Not that I want to throw money all over but to me he's better all around than Lindholm and from what I understand they're comparable as far as market value.

If Ferland doesn't want to be here then it's hard to sign him. I have a feeling he'll get moved but something also tells me Hamilton will go too.

I like the trade.

Rask had become hard to watch and though he missed all of the preseason and the beginning of the regular season he had been trending downwards since last year. He’s a defensive centerman who needs highly skilled wingers to look like an affective offensive player and he’s a poor skater.

Niederreiter plays a power forward’s game and is a solid skater. He reminds me of what we wanted Zykov to be. At worst he’s a third line winger who can get you 15 goals a season.

Because they just extended Tuevo and Aho's is coming and will be more expensive.  Ferland is good and a type of player we need but we still have a surplus of defense (Fluery, Faulk, Bean, Pesce, Hamilton) that we could turn into top tier scoring as well and Ferland is not worth what he's asking..at least not when you consider it'd be right up there with TT/Aho.

    • Oh, I agree, the Panthers shouldn't stop looking for our next QB.  Please dont take what I'm saying, as I think Young is the answer.  I dont feel that way.  Although the majority that post negative of him daily, are flat out lying to themselves.
    • Those TDs passes you saw Sunday is what I think you will see bryce at his best. Those touch passes he can lob to receivers over the defenders heads. Long as receivers can get significant separation and bryce does overthrow those passes which we seem him do a lot. He is never gonna be a guy that can throw a laser into a receivers chest with a defender draped on him downfield unless its short pass or within a couple feet from the endzone.
    • If teams play us honestly and take that deep stuff away we may be able to operate good enough underneath to counter that. It is about time we started trying to force them to respect it.    But I think people should enjoy the win for two weeks because what’s in front of us doesn’t scream playoffs to me. It would be shocking if we swept TB. They aren’t Atlanta.  And even if we sweep there can be no let down.    I saw the stat of our record coming off a loss. Pretty good. What would it be coming off a win lol? Without looking, it has to at least be pretty upside down  (I count it to be 2-4).
