Too Much Sportsmanship?

Listen I'm all for sportsmanship. I think players should talk to each other and wish them good luck before the game. And tell them "good game" after.

But it seem to me that the Panther defense was going out of their way to help up the Giants or slap them on the butt or tell them "great run" or "great catch."

I'm sorry, I'm not a fan of that. There is plenty of time for sportsmanship before and after the game. NOT DURING!

That bothered me a little. Anyone else?

You like watching personal fouls? Guys stepping on others? Late hits?

This game was great because of the sportsmanship it had.

I feel the opposite.

The players should just be themselves or otherwise they are just being petty.

yeah, that definitely accounted for the loss....what's the big deal? I'll never criticize a player for a lack of sportsmanship....but I know that's not a real popular opinion with the younger generation.

Good example, see how many people thought that it was funny the way that ahole reporter went at Marinelli yesterday. Most often, the ones that thought that was great, I would bet, are in their 20s...product of this bullshit culture where people don't wanna be dissed or yo ass is gonna get served....what a load.

What concerns me the most about the game is the numbers on the scoreboard, not how many times one of our guys helped the other guy up or said "nice play".

Most fans don't want to see their team helping guys up and slapping them on the butt. I'm not alone in this opinion. A lot of people who called the MSP had issues with it too. Including the hosts. It didn't have anything to do with the outcome of the game. But its not something that most fans like to see during the game. You can be a classy team AND a hard-nosed team. (see the San Francisco 49ers during the 80's). This game was for the #1 seed in the NFC. I don't want to see players saying "great run Brandon," "great catch Amaini!" The teams can do that after the game. For 60 min. those guys in blue are your enemies. Is that too much to ask?

most fans?

peppers destroyed manning on that one sack. Jacobs got crushed on a run. The game had intensity. yet watching them help each other up was a gem.

It doesnt need to turn into MMA, and kids dont need to see 'miami hurricanes and florida state' antics. Thank god they made the helmet rule in the NFL.

i completely agree with fitty 76, Their was way too much loving going around. It takes some energy to pick yourself up when you are that big and I want them to use their own energy on little things like that. I might have missed it but I really didn't see the Giants helping us out too much. this isn't tennis, let them get their own ass up.

I don't know, but it's not something I'm gonna get worked up over...

    • The defense is 28 out of 32 in salary cap allocation for 2025. We have a ton of resources tied up in the offense including the highest paid OL in the league multiple 1st round WR's and multiple recent draft picks across the offense at TE and RB and we have two 1000 yard backs. Bryce and company couldn't get past Tyler Shough and his crew in 2 games. That's all there is to it. You can spin it and put the entire onus on the defense to your heart's desire it doesn't change the fact that this is an OFFENSIVE team now. If you want to argue that we should revert back to a defensive identity as we have been in the past which has brought us success then I will agree with you on that. But as it stands the onus is on the offense because that is where we have invested through the nose. Dave Canales and Bryce Young need to do a hell of a lot better than they have against the rebuilding Saints who without us should only have 2 wins this season.
    • Bryce is not trending up. He is the same QB he has always been. Bottom of the league in most categories.  If Canales thinks he can build a contender with Bryce then he is a bigger idiot then I thought.  Offense next year will have the same issues and be just as inconsistent as it was this year.  We have seen Bryce’a ceiling and it is 175 yards a game and that is not a QB you keep around as your starter. That is barely a backup.
    • Looks like Darnold should have had at least 3 picks. That'll get ugly in the playoffs eventually. Can't deny his physical talent though. You either have that or you don't. Mike Macdonald is a legit coach.
