him and kobe would still be good for another 4 rings before kobe retired and they could ship d12 off to memphis for the #1 pick or some bs

bynum ain't gonna get kobe no rings

yeah you're delusional

D12 wouldn't get them rings either....why do you think they wanted cp3. The Lakers need a competent PG. When it looked like CP3 was coming I was all in with D12 because the two together would be a great pair of superstars to lead this franchise into the future. Now that Bynum is developing into a star in his own right, I'll take the younger true seven footer who doesn't rely on his athleticism as much and can actually hit free throws once in awhile....

Welp, the Lakers now have a PG who can stay in front of quick guards.

Very impressive debut for Sessions, welcome to the Lakers!

7 points, 5 assists and 4 boards in 19 minutes on the fly.

.

Yea I'm stoked after Sessions debut last night. To be able to get off a plane, have zero practice, only know a handful of plays, and still be able to provide a significant contribution in limited minutes....just a fuging awesome start to his career in L.A. Looking forward to really seeing what he can do in a few weeks once he develops some chemistry with Gasol, Bynum and Kobe.

Derek Fisher reaches buyout with Rockets

Derek Fisher has reached a buyout agreement with the Houston Rockets and is expected to become a free agent once he clears waivers, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

Fisher, 37, was traded to the Rockets on Thursday with a 2012 first-round draft pick for forward Jordan Hill. Fisher became expendable after the Los Angeles Lakers acquired point guard Ramon Sessions from the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Fisher will likely have a deal with a contender soon. A new rule in the collective bargaining agreement doesn’t allow him to get bought out after a trade and re-sign with the Lakers this season. Fisher had a $3.4 million player option on his 2012-13 contract.

Fisher averaged 5.9 points and 25.5 minutes for the Lakers this season.

Must be haters writing these articles about last night's game where "The Closer" needed 27 shots to score 29 points.

HOUSTON -- On four straight possessions, Ramon Sessions showed why the Los Angeles Lakers brought the point guard in at the trade deadline to essentially replace former captain Derek Fisher.

A driving bank-shot, a pass that put Pau Gasol on the free-throw line, a made jumper and, finally, a spoon-fed layup for Gasol. In a flash, Sessions had helped put the Lakers up by 12 with 6:41 remaining in the fourth quarter against the Houston Rockets. The newest member of the purple and gold was doing whatever he wanted via the high screen-and-roll and was about to lead his team to a runaway victory.

But from that point on, the ball would rarely be in Sessions' hands.

With the Rockets trailing by just four, Kobe Bryant checked in at the 4:23 mark and proceeded to miss a 3-pointer, a jumper and a fadeaway, and had the ball stolen away from him over the course of the next two minutes, during which Houston took the lead for good. While Kobe did recover to hit three awe-inspiring jumpers to close the game, the damage had already been done. Houston had sealed a 107-104 victory at the Toyota Center. The decision to abandon Sessions, who finished with 14 points on 6-for-9 shooting, was baffling.

4. Those worried about how Kobe might work with a penetrating PG won't feel good about tonight.

As mentioned above, Sessions dominated Houston early in the fourth, getting into the paint and breaking down Houston's defense with relative ease. After Kobe checked back in with 4:45 to play -- some will question whether Mike Brown left him there too long -- all of that disappeared. The ball was put in Kobe's hands on every trip, nearly the same way every time. The ball movement stopped, shots came late in the clock and almost nothing was headed toward the rim. Predictably, the Lakers went scoreless between the 5:01- and 1:28-minute marks. Bryant hit a couple of late jumpers, but basically the Lakers' ability to win devolved into a question of whether Kobe would hit his jumpers (iso heavy) or not.
