2020 Panthers, the NFL's "Kiss of Death"

I now know why other teams are scared to play the Panthers:

•  Week 5, after losing 23-16 to the Panthers, the Atlanta Falcons fired  HC Dan Quinn and GM Thomas Dimitroff.
• Week 11, the Detroit Lions fired HC Matt Patricia after the Panthers defeated them 20-0.
• Week 16:  After failing to win the NFC East at home this past Sunday, the Washington Football Team waived former first-round draft pick and starting QB Dwayne Haskins.

If the Panthers were a college team, they would be everyone's homecoming game.

So 60% of our wins resulted in key personnel on the opposing teams getting the axe.  Man.  They must think we really suck.

Considering the fact that the Panthers had 25% of their cap in the "dead" column, and another 25% of the cap on IR (CMC, KK, Okung) most of the season--considering the fact that they STARTED on defense 3-4 rookies (Brown, YGM, Chinn, Pride) and the OL was terrible--New Coach, no OTAs/Camp/preseason--this team should not have won a game and there was really no excuse to lose the 2020 Carolina Panthers. 

Just thought this was an interesting 2020 in review factoid.

It’s a testament to Rhule and staff that we won even one game and were competitive in most of the rest of them. I personally believe the future is bright. The dregs of the last regime are finally gone and the new brain trust seems to really be adaptable and able to make adjustments.

As a GM or Owner of another franchise it's hard to give your 2nd/3rd or even longer tenured coach a lot of leeway when a first-year head coach who inherited a dumpster fire of a team with no off-season / pre-season is making chicken salad out of chicken poo vs your squad. Once they see what culture we are building and the product we are putting on the field.. It is hard to not see the writing on the wall and deciding to move on from what you've got.  I'm not surprised.
