Party for Patrick-Charity Event at Tyber Creek Saturday night

This saturday night my newest Celtic music endeavor, Stirling Bridge, will be part of an important event in Charlotte. It's the Party For Patrick, a benefit to raise money for A Second Breath Foundation, which funds lung transplant research. This will be a really fun evening for a great cause!

Not many cities have an Irish bagpipe band, but Charlotte sure does. Caol Na Gael will be on hand to play, as well as Irish folk singer Billy Mulligan. We'll be doing a couple of sets throughout the evening as well. It will be a great display of the variety that exists in Celtic music today.

The Party For Patrick will be held at The Tyber Creek Pub in Southend this Saturday night, November 14, from 7:00 until 10:00. Admission is $15.00, which covers food, a raffle ticket, and some other stuff you can find on the website (www.partyforpatrick.com).

Please visit their website, and plan to come out and bring some friends. This will be a great party!

    • I'm only in favor of this if they make it like cigarettes.  Shouldn't be plastered all over the presentation of the game.
    • Yes but this is under the assumption that most of the players are susceptible to this sort of coercing from those type of elements. I think those actual cases are rare. Plus the sportsbooks are more motivated than most to stamp it out because it loses them money. It's just a natural side effect of having gambling at all. IMO, better for it to be legal. Now, I do find it insanely hypocritical(but also typical) that all these sports leagues that once turned their noses up and were very high and mighty about sports gambling are so openly supporting it now that the megabucks are rolling in.
    • Well I should also say another caveat is positional value. You have to be careful violating that. For the scenarios you are describing, those are also things that free agency is for. Free agency should always set up the draft. Improve the roster and then go shopping for things to potentially take your roster up a notch.  Lastly, we are in scenario 2. Our roster is still not good and we have holes at most position groups. We are actually in the "BPA All Day" range.
