Though not surprising given what was on film.  I really hope Darnold works out, because DJ should have been close to the top of the league in receiving if he just had a QB to get him a catchable ball.

The Carolina Panthers decided to move on from Teddy Bridgewater after just one year for a lot of reasons. Near the top of the list had to be his intense struggles in the red zone. Inside the 20, Bridgewater’s decision-making and accuracy both took a serious dive last season. Perhaps no receiver corps suffered more as a result.

According to Pro Football Focus, both D.J. Moore and Robby Anderson had several uncatchable end zone targets in 2020. Moore tied Nelson Agholor for the league lead with six, while Anderson had five.

Bridgewater’s chemistry issues with Moore extended far beyond the goal line, though. PFF says only 77% of Moore’s targets were catchable when he was wide open last year.

While Moore came close, in the end, PFF named Jerry Jeudy of the Broncos the league’s unluckiest wide receiver last year. More bad luck could be on the way for Jeudy. Denver has become the most popular potential trade destination for Bridgewater.

This year, Carolina is betting that Sam Darnold represents a step up over Teddy. Many factors will determine if that’s the case, but if Darnold offers even average ball placement, Moore might just lead the NFL in receiving yards this coming season.

    • Oh I was.  But we still had great players.
    • You keep AT unless he WANTS to get traded to a contender during the season.  He's valuable, TET, XL, and Coker need to learn how to be PROFESSIONALS on game day, practice, and the off-season.  That's what you get from AT.  ADDITIONALLY, he is clutch.  He is steady.  At is that savvy vet who will always flash. I really think they keep 7 WR's if Brycen can operate on special teams.  Week 1 you may see us heavy on WR and OL because of the massive amount of injuries across the league.  Renfrow may even be cool starting on the PS since he lives close and wouldn't need to uproot his family.  You can still make nearly 400K as a vested veteran on an NFL practice squad.  You see more veterans hanging around since the age limit was lifted. I think the 1st 53 and PS looks like so...... Offense: (25) QB (2) Young / Dalton RB (3) Chuba/Rico/Etienee WR (7) T-Mac/XL/AT/Coaker/Renfrow/JHjr/Brycen TE (3) Tremble/Sanders/Evans OL (10) Icky/Lewis/Corbett/Hunt/Moten/Brady/Mayes/Yosh/Zavala/Kingston Defense: (25) DL: (6) Brown/Robinson/Turk/Bobby B/Cam Jackson/Sam Roberts OLB: (5) Wonnom/PJ2/NicSic/Princely/Incoon ILB: (5) Rozeboom/TW/Windmon/Cherelus/Bam CB: (5) Horn/MJ/CSW/Thorton/Evans S: (4) Tre'Mo/Ransom/Demani/Scott Specialists: (3) JJ/Fitz/Martin Last spot: Right now I have it as a toss up between DJ Johnson and Bam.  Until NicSic can come back we need an extra edge.  Do we utilize TW more as a blitzer from the middle to keep Bam safe?  I'm not worried about DJJ getting picked up from another team, a little more concerned with Bam. Practice Squad: DavidMoore/JamesMitchell/JacolbyGeorge/Tuttle/Crumdley/Ray/DJJohnson/Kantra/Carter/Blacksheer/ Wright/KrysBarnes/MichaelReid/Safety pick up/RB pick up/QB pick up
