Heard he has diverticulitis....

Diverticulitis occurs when one or more diverticula in your digestive tract become inflamed or infected. Diverticula are small, bulging pouches that can form anywhere in your digestive system, including your esophagus, stomach and small intestine. However, they're most commonly found in the large intestine.

Diverticula are common, especially after age 40. When you have diverticula, the condition is known as diverticulosis. You may never even know you have these pouches because they seldom cause any problems, such as diverticulitis.

Sometimes, however, diverticulitis occurs, causing severe abdominal pain, fever, nausea and a marked change in your bowel habits. Mild cases of diverticulitis can be treated with rest, changes in your diet and antibiotics. But serious cases of diverticulitis may require surgery.

From Shane Carwin who does not like Brock at all he:

I am sure most of you know I am not the leader of the Lesnar Fan Club. That being said, antics or not, he is OUR UFC HWT Champion. He beat a future Hall of Famer to keep that belt and he NEEDS our prayers and good thoughts right now.

At the end of the day I can take off my UFC shirt and say here is a man, a Champion that has been brought down by an illness not another man. It is very humbling if you think about it.

Brock has a wife, kid, and friends that depend on him to make their lives better. You do not have to support Brock and his antics but you should have respect for the human side of what is happening here.

This is not a ploy to sell more tickets, he is the biggest draw this sport has ever had. This is not him ducking me or any other fighter. This is about a man who is fighting an illness for his career, family and friends.

Talk of stripping a man of his title due to illness will set this sport back farther then anything Brock has ever said. We need our Champions healthy and defending. I know the show will go on but to be a Champion you must beat a Champion.

My family and I send our thoughts and well wishes to Brock's family, friends and training partners. We are indeed keeping you in our thoughts.

If you sit around bashing Brock or making fun of this because of his antics you might be the very same thing you despise. As an MMA fan, as a human be concerned that one of OUR OWN has fallen and needs our support.

Get well soon UFC Heavyweight Champ Brock Lesnar.

What? I thought he had some major/rare disease. Diverticulitis is not that big of a deal. Anytime you have surgery on your bowels it could become major however. The risk for infection and getting an acute abdomen is a big worry. So long as his surgery went ok he should be fine with some healing time.

This is pissing me off like they were trying to make this WWFish......

Brock Lesnar has returned home after having surgery for an infection in his intestinal tract.

Larry Novotny, a friend of Lesnar, on Tuesday told ABC affiliate KSAX-TV that the UFC heavyweight champion is recuperating after an 11-day stay in a local hospital where he underwent several tests and “a minor surgery.” Lesnar’s primary home is in Alexandria, Minn.

Novotny said Lesnar may need to undergo further surgery, but would see how the healing process went. At that point, a decision would be made whether Lesnar would be able to continue fighting.

Lesnar sent a message to his fans through Novotny, saying, “he is getting better and contrary to some rumors that he had died, he is on the mend.”

The pro-wrestler turned MMA fighter collapsed at his home in Canada last week after battling what was thought to be a bad case of mononucleosis. The incident forced the indefinite postponement of his second title defense, against Shane Carwin. Last month, Lesnar withdrew from his headlining bout with Carwin at UFC 106 when the illness first struck.

UFC president Dana White on Tuesday confirmed Lesnar’s surgery and said the champion was recovering, but was unsure of his future.
