If the Panthers lose and the Falcons win ....

Wasn't it changed to how the teams fared against common opponents? Or was that the old system?

Yep, your right, but were tied with them in that too, so it progesses to the next level, which is conference.

Tiebreaker within a division (assuming we lose and they win)....

1- Head to head (both 1-1)

2- Games within the division (both 3-3)

3- Common opponents (both 9-3)

4- Conference games (Car 7-5, Atl 8-4)

If we are the number 2 seed and worthy of the division, they we have to beat a divisional opponent on the road. Otherwise we all end up 3-3. Hardly enough to declare yourself the division winner. We need to assert our will and wrestle the victory away from the Saints. If they beat us then we have to say we limped into the playoffs and we are hardly the team to be feared in the NFC. Opening on the road where we just dropped our last 2 games.

Win and we still set the table for a rematch in the Meadowlands. Sunday is huge. Win and we are legitimate, lose and we are the pretenders defaulting the division to the Falcons. I would hate it for so many reasons.

If you want to make everyone on down happy, then win this week so we instead of the Falcons win the fivision. Last I remember, Big Cat wasn't crazy about the birds either.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
