Fox will get an extension.....

Recommended Posts

Get ready guys. No matter what record we have at the end of the season, I wouldn't doubt this organization dediced to go ahead and shore up Foxy's services for the forseeable future for fear that we might lose him after his final year (next year) is out.

And if you think that's far fetched.......I have an equation that will remind you that this is not as far fetched as you think it is.....

Jake Delhomme + 6 turnovers vs the Arizona Cardinals = 5 year extension and at least 15 million guarateed

it never made any sense that he'd be fired anyway

there's possibly going to be a work stoppage in 2011, and we won't know how that will turn out until 2010. why would you bring in a new coach with a possible walk out on the horizon

Why do you care how much guaranteed money it is fact of the matter is it lowered his cap number. He won't see that 5 years so stop worrying about it. Yes maybe we should get rid of Fox so we can be like the Bucs. They run their coach that took and won them a superbowl and sent him packing and now look at them. I don't understand why people want Fox gone so bad, every coach has a bad day or makes a bad call or gets out coached. Look at Belichek making that dumbass call on 4th to go for it maybe he should be fired for that.

i don't see a reason to get rid of fox yet. i don't think he's ever had a season with less than 7 wins and one of those was after coming to a team with 1 win and another was after losing the team's starting qb after 3 games

i wouldn't be surprised to see davidson go though, i think delhomme and smith's struggles he will have to take the blame for. we can't go into next season without a way to get these guys back to their old selves and only way to solve that is a new qb or new oc, and a new qb is a lot harder to come by

Yeah, we don't have a "TO" exploding....yet. And I don't think any coach other than Crossman will be leaving. Not too sure about him either...:(

    • A winning record would be nice, but I still have us winning around the 6 to 8 game mark. Realistically we should beat the Jets and Saints, that gets us to 5 wins. After that, we have to face a lot of potential play off teams and our divisional opponents. I think we’ll win 1 or 2 of those games to take us to 6 or 7 wins, perhaps 8 wins if we can spring a further surprise.  Is that enough progress for head coach and QB? I’m not sure, it will depend on performances and output. That said, it’s nice to be back in a position where we are thinking about the play offs.
    • I would tend to agree about not falling into the trap and paying a below average QB, but sometimes situations can “force” a team to pay that QB. For example, if we play ourselves into a 9-8 like record, then what options will we have in the draft? Or do we avoid the draft and trade for or sign someone in free agency?  I’m not convinced by the 2026 QB draft class. There’s some intriguing prospects but no one that really screams “draft me”. I’m not sure we’ve got anyone really that stands out as a trade candidate or free agent signing. So although we might not want to commit a big money contract to Young, him playing well and showing progress might force the team’s hand.
    • Realistically we would be looking at no more than a mid round pick for Dowdle or Chuba. Are we really that desperate for a mid round pick? Not really. I would much prefer us utilise the two RBs in a 1-2 punch similar to how we used D-Will and Stewart. After all, Bryce is not Drew Brees. He won’t throw for 300+ yards and carry the team consistently as a passer. So having a strong running game with a 1-2 punch will be beneficial to him, and it will also be beneficial to the RBs because we can spell them and not overwork them.
