Does our offense go full strength this Sunday?

I know we're vying for a first round bye and a home game for the fans but this is a John Fox football team; and that mentality is "we're in the playoffs" no matter what. So, that being said.

What does the Huddle think we'll do? Go all out and risk injury - or - treat it like a preseason game?

Just interested to get opinions and people a chance to get some bragging rights.

they'll play to win.....but to say going all out to risk injury or treat it like a preason game ?????? I don't understand.....Nobody wants to get injuried no matter what type of game they plan on playing. maybe the better question is will Fox rest the starters if we get a good lead?(probably, but I don't think we are going into sundays game with the starters playing a few quarters unless we are kiling them.....)

Considering our stellar home record, and our mediocre road record, I hope that John Fox realizes the importance of attaining that 2nd seed. If I'm going with my gut I hope the Panthers come out in full force and try to lock down the NFC South title.

I would hate to see us back into a wildcard spot, especially after losing to the Falcons and then bowing out late in the season and allowing them to take the title. That would really piss me off. I thought Gruden really did his team a diservice last year packing it in the last few weeks. THe Bucs were useless in the playoffs. I would be sick watching the Falcons celebrate the title after the kind of season we have had. They play the Rams, so it is all but a foregone conclusion that they will achieve 11 wins. We have a serious challenge with the Saints on the road.

I would hate for us to play all out, still lose, and risk injury.

On the other hand if we lose we are traveling to Arizona, which is probably the weakest playoff team in the NFC. The only problem with that is the possibility of playing at Atlanta in the 2nd round (although more likely at NYG).

I still want that division title. Plus, if we do go all out against the Saints, we would have a first round bye and that would make up for any exhaustion or minor dings suffered during week 17.

they will go all out w/o a doubt....I'm talking about flea flicker's, Chris Gamble laterals, etc. whatever Fox thinks is needed to win the game. This game is for a bye.....that is the rest this team needs/wants.

Treat it like a preseason game? Even Foxy can get that ONE call right.....lose this game and it is less rest and a harder road.

The offense will be key, as they will have to outperform a pass happy Brees looking to set that record on a pitfully playing secondary (all are included). Outside of LBs, the rest of the D needs to step it up at all positions......yes, the LB's made some mistakes last week but they were forced into gambling trying to make up for a depleted DL.

So then the popular opinion is we're going to treat it like a reg. season game. So, now, don't be so mad if Fox does the opposite. A lot of people complained about playing to lose and not stepping on the gas in the last game.

I do agree though if we get this win the bye would make up for playing hard. A rest would be awesome.

This thread is retarded. Do you really think with a Division Title ON THE LINE! Any team, in any sport, in the history of the world, especially one that is 8-0 at home and with a loss would be 3-5 on the road would treat the game like it didnt matter? We lose the game our chances at reaching the superbowl let alone winning it drop by like 90%. Anyone who thinks Fox is going to treat this game like a preseason game is a complete moron and should no longer be allowed to post on this board.

If Fox and crew is truly "all in" like they said they were before the season, then it will be full strength until we're up by 28 or so, or until we're up by a couple of scores late in the game.

If we come out on fire like we have for the last three weeks, then the starters won't play in the second half.

You, sir, need to take your tampon out and put it in your mouth.

Fox is smarter than this thread

It's a simple question, chill out.

You people need to chill the fug out, and stop finding a reason to bitch all the time. There isn't even an argument about this, just a simply gauging opinion. Good luck leading normal lives message board hardasses.

    • The term you're looking for is "malinger(ed)", and he didn't.  I'm not sure why Panthers fans act like jaded ex girlfriends.  The dude is clearly injury prone as his time in San Fransico also proves. It's not like he got to San Fran and stopped having problems.
    • My long and rambling post:   The guy is all heart, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back even better next year. He’s exactly the guy you lock up. The money won’t ever change the way he plays.  It was a big fumble, but what 1,000 yard back fumbles once in an entire season?  Pride. This team is FINALLY seeing guys who obviously take the game very seriously. Hunt, Chuba, Thielen, Brown, Horn (CB), Coker, Bryce (IMHO). Bye bye, Spider-Man. I don’t see these dudes being OK with teammates half-assing practice or in games. I can see Brown and Horn coming over to talk to somebody.  Good team? Ummm, maybe, but will still likely lose more close games than they win unless this last draft turns in to LOB part 2. That’s a stretch.  Pretty good/decent team. Yes. They finished the season as a pretty good team. I know I sound like a broken record harping back to it, but going in to ATL and putting a 40 burger on them en route to an OT win. A bad Panthers team would have had their brakes beaten off. We’ve seen it.  Rose colored glasses on and bonging a 40 of hopium: There are watershed moments that occur that change the course of franchises, both good and bad. If Fox doesn’t pull Rodney at halftime, the epic journey that was 2003 never happens. On the negative side, Cam taking that one hit from Watt was the end of any and all Panthers relevancy and we’ve been the biggest losers in all of pro sports as a result. Watershed moments. LOB draft. Vinny goes down and the goat is born.  Will the ATL game be the spark that this franchise has desperately needed? Could it be that they hit the mega million jackpot with Princley and Scourton as eat QBs for breakfast? Sure would be nice having 2 all-pro edge guys on the cheap for the next 4 years.  A lot of unknowns, but at least it actually feels  fun again.
    • Ok LT and Petersen are a cut above everyone else to me cmc and Faulk are interchangeable on this list.  though Faulk was better career wise
