Charlotte FC Interested In Argentinian, Nicolas Castro

Recommended Posts

Castro is a proper number 10 who is very good on the ball and has a willingness to take players on. Per the below tweet, he has returned to training after a bout of appendicitis and is a candidate to be sold ahead of the transfer deadline.

Below is a roster breakdown of where we currently stand:

GK - Kahlina, Marks, Sisniega, Zendejas

LB - Mora, Armour (Injured), Santos

LCB - Fuchs (Injured), Makoun, Sobocinski

RCB - Corujo, Walkes

RB - Lindsey, Afful

CDM - Bronico, Hegardt (Injured)

LCM - Bender, Ortiz, Ruiz

RCM - Alcivar, Franco, Jones

LW - Jozwiak, Vargas

ST - Swiderski, Rios, Mello (Injured)

RW - Shinyashiki, Gaines, Reyna

On Loan - McNeill (Charlotte Independence)

Jozwiak and Swiderski will be headed back to Poland for international duty soon so it’s important that we add an additional player. Castro would more than likely allow Ortiz to permanently move back to LW and provide depth there while Jozwiak is on international assignment.

Random thought I just had. Since Lattanzio is Italian and he admitted his Spanish isn’t great, do we start targeting less Spanish speaking player and focus more on Euros?

I could certainly see that being an option. MAR loved his South American born players but Lattanzio may prefer Europeans.

One thing that I think will continue to hold true is that the majority of our players will be from overseas. Krneta seems to value talent outside of the MLS rather than players who have MLS experience.

    • Not sure how much he was a long term piece of this team.   Sucks to not have him as part of the rotation.   Looks like it's Lee Hunter time.
    • This post was an error. Oops and sorry for the errors in the previous one. Too slow to edit.   We’ll see what they do.
    • I am not sure he will put the over the games but we’ll probably have them.   Two things I am thinking.  We have 4 preseason games.  All the coaches have enough service time to know the standards that are in place for decades. If I recall it was play your starters just a series to start woth and build it up until week theee where play a lot and you have week four to set hour roster. Evaluate before cuts.   Bevell will certainly have the whole thing down pat.   I’d they don’t do the fries and frie air will worry too. Because it is set up to do that.     I have said since they went t three preseason people have to figure a new way are still feeling it out and trying things.  We don’t have to this year.
