Jake will start next week....

There needs to be some accountability for people who make these definitive statement posts (like "Green Bay WILL lose to the Lions," "Jake Delhomme WILL start") and end up being flat wrong. If Delhomme starts next week I'll applaud Zod for the scoop, but otherwise heads should roll.

C'mon, Zod always makes a thread where he predicts something that ends up not happening and then doesn't own up to it, probably deletes the thread altogether too. You should be used to it by now.

I do believe Martin makes it over to Marshall to help out with some of those completions to Bryant, possibly pick one off.

I bet Ken Lucas wishes he had Martin last year also...

I thought the same thing today Zod. Godfrey has horrible instincts and never is in position for a play on those throws. A lot of those plays we saw today when Godfrey was coming in late........Martin was there to make the play on them.

i'm sure we will see Martin on the injury report though..we had CJ Wilson on Antonio Bryant for christ's sake

not saying he won't be......b/c I didn't pay attention to see if he played special teams after that hit........

but hasn't Wilson always been ahead of Martin in regards to the CB position.

If Jake Delhomme gets the start next week, I'll perform inconceivable acts on a male human being.

Good thing you didn't mention the details. I don't think we want to know.

But don't jinx us there, Zod. Reading threads like this make me think someone want to jinx us.

    • I agree, but I've already said that the players will definitely take more money up front because it's more security. But they want more guaranteed money and NFL FOs don't want to do that for several and various reasons, and that's what's at issue.  https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/nfl-second-round-rookies-finally-starting-to-sign-what-took-so-long-and-what-it-means-for-future-contracts/ It's a tug of war between teams and players, and, sure, paying a player a signing bonus may satisfy them, especially if--and sometimes "only if"--it ultimately leads to a guarantee of more of their contract, but the teams are on the hook for all of those guarantees when cap time comes, so if they guarantee more money, they're ultimately losing the contract game.
    • TBH, these are the kind of players that get weeded out of professional sports pretty quickly. Also, CMC is not that guy. There is zero indication that he isn't competitive.
    • I like the free agency. It actually helps basically all schools across the board. Pretty much only ancient HC's and/or HC's that haven't been able to adjust have been complaining about the free agency. Your fortunes can be made or broken every offseason. It's not like before where a bad recruiting class or two meant multiyear purgatory.  I will never understand all the bellyaching about the NIL. If you want to talk about what ruined college athletics, it has been naked greed. Conference expansions for TV revenue, ever skyrocketing AD and facilities costs and now the attempts to permanently ruin the postseasons(football and basketball).  All the kids did was get a very well deserved piece of a very, very, VERY broken pie.
