It's the most wonderful time of the year

These started going up as soon as we clinched being in the playoffs - couldn't finish until I took down the Christmas stuff because I kept blowing circuits. Some of you have seen some of the before - they only go up when the panthers make the playoffs so it makes them all the more special.

Everything is pretty old except the football and the very large thing on my front porch. The football is a couple of years old but is just now making it's debut. The large thing on the porch is new this year. And the flash washed out the blue lights in the shrubs, but they're there.

So? You a Panther fan??

Looks good. I need more outside stuff. But My flag has been flying all year and will continue into next season. But I would like to get a SB43 champion flag with the Panther logo on it!!

The year I bought the big inflatable...I remembered seeing it before football season began. I toyed and toyed with buying it and finally broke down - my reasoning - one year we're going to the Superbowl and I know I'll regret it if I didn't buy it. Notice the number on that thing 03.

Before then I just had banners and flags and lights. Oh - and I did get my beer light before then as well. I should look through old photos to see what all I had back then. I wasn't on a message board when we went to the NFC Championships against Green Bay so I doubt I took pictures.

I think you need to call the ghost busters though. You have a sh*tload of "Orbs" around your house. lol lol lol

Yeah - that's the fog - it's awful right now. I've got spotlights in the yard and you can see every droplet in the air.

Oh - and pretend like you don''t notice the banners on the garage are upside down - those are among my oldest flags - they didn't even have panthers flags that first year so I got those. They used to work the way I used to hang them - on slanted poles on the front porch, but that large banner took their spot.

And that banner on the front porch - that was also pre-flag days. I bought the printed fabric and made it - notice the alternate logo on it. Those date all the way back to the first year of existence.

They're regular net lights. I used to use some C-9 sized lights (that were very old), but decided to retire them this year. Bought regular blue net lights half off yesterday - my plan was to buy some half off after Christmas all along. Thing I hate about regular blue lights is that they fade so bad - won't be able to use them just a couple of times. Couldn't find any net blue lights in led's. Wish I could. If you remember correctly sunbunny, I replaced the Go Panthers lights with LED's the last time we were in the playoffs. Look how bright they still are. I've got a few more years left in these new net ones since they are new before they fade too badly - hopefully I'll find some net LED's in blue by then.

    • T-Mac is a nickname, Tet is a shortening of Tetairoa. Like you said below... your name is Jonathan, I could see "Jonny" being considered a nickname, but Jon isn't a nickname, it's a shortening of Johnathan, see the difference? And if your mom named you Jonathan for it's biblical significance/meaning, because she was very religious, I think it would be different. T-Mac is Polynesian, so much in their culture has deeper meaning for them, particularly names.  So for his mom to feel this way, I highly doubt it's just because she likes the name Tetairoa and not Tet, it's much more likely than not to be because the name itself has a deeper meaning in their culture.   Particularly as T-Mac himself has often talked about how much his Polynesian heritage means to himself and his family. And no, I'm not saying all this because of how much he's my guy, if he was just "normal american" and his name was Jonathan and he didn't like fans calling him Jon, I'd probably just say tough poo.  It's that he's Polynesian and I know things like names have a much deeper meaning in their culture than they do in ours for the most part. For whatever it's worth, a quick google search.......
