Peppers, maybe he will stay?

Definatley need him around because of the pressure he causes... Offenses have to come up with a plan just to block him... without him they would just have one for picking up the blitz or something... and just have one on one with the rest of the defense... He's a play maker and a one of the elite defensive ends that we can not just let go.. I mean its not often you have a guy like peppers on your team...

It wont be 16.7 million per year though so yea we can afford to keep Peppers.

He might want 15 million a year in an offseason where Richard Marshall needs a new deal, TD needs a new deal, and the guy who will probably be our starter at QB next year needs a new deal...Great job Hurney.

I guess we better not extend Stewart when his contract comes up then, because he'll be done faster than Pep...

Hey genius...Stewart is in his second year of a five year deal...which will only make him 25 years old when his contract ends. Need I say it is a completely different deal?

Running backs careers are alot shorter than those of other postions because of all the physcial abuse... usually running backs are done at 30.. as far as production.

Hey genius... no it isn't... Your argument was that Pep is somehow going to start wearing down and deteriorating...

Stewart's style will mean he'll do it at a more rapid pace, and at even 25, Stew will be old by NFL standards...

I'm not saying it's a bad thing or that we should get rid of Stewart, because he's currently my favorite player... But to simply want to throw Pep away because he's wearing down or whatever is foolish...

Ask any of the coaches we've faced this season if Pep is wearing down...

Like I said, I'd love to have Pep for the next couple of years, but who knows after that. I don't want to commit to a long deal because in the end we're going to end up paying for more than we get in return.

Let us not forget there was a reason no one wanted to trade for him last off season...it's because no one else sees him as worth that kind of long term investment.

Example... Terrell Davis, Portis, LT, they are just some of the more recent... with the exception of Ricky Williams... you dont get much out of a running back after 30.

Again, HE'LL BE 25 at the end of his current deal. And if Stewart is playing at a high level when that comes, of course we would re-sign him. But you can't compare Stewart to Peppers as Samuel Jackson was trying to do.

The Point is Peppers will be 30, and your claiming that his productivity will go down... because of his age. Steward will be 25 and and so why sign him to a few more years because his numbers will soon decline because of his style of power running football!

I'm sorry, all this trying to compare Peppers situation to Stewart's is ridiculous. Who knows where the team will be cap-wise and how Stewart will be playing in 3 YEARS.

The fact is, we have limited draft picks and are already squeezed under the cap and Peppers is going to demand maximum dollars for his services the next few years. Once again, maybe he's worth every penny the next couple of years, but you can't tell me he'll be worth it 5 years from now when we're still stuck in a big contract.

The best GM's in the league know it's better to cut ties and replace with young, cheaper talent, than it is to lock into risky long term contracts. Try to imagine how Indy or NE would handle this...no way they give him a long-term maximum deal.

    • So after watching (or tried to watch) Night 1 of Wrestlemania 42, I concluded on a few things: 1) WWE partnering with ESPN/Disney is by far the worst move WWE could had made. They either needed to stay on Peacock or simply switched over to Netflix for all of their PLEs because tonight's broadcast on the ESPN + app was absolutely terrible. I couldn't go 5 seconds without a buffer due to everyone trying to stream the show at once and you would think that WWE and ESPN would realize this before going into Wrestlemania weekend but yet still allowed this issue to keep occuring. Not only that but I backed out of the show and tried to see if that fixed the issue but realized that because of the buffering, it basically "paused" the show and I ended up being several minutes behind so once I got back in, the match had already ended and the magic was ruined by their stupid issue. 2) The ads.. the motha f'n ads... If it ain't greedy enough for both WWE and ESPN to steal our money but to force us to watch 5 minutes of ads after each match is absolutely ridiculous. You already have our money with all the streaming services and also with ticket sales, and with merchandise and the advertising for companies on their turnbuckles and ring mats... But yeah, let's throw in even more trash commercials to force it down our throats. I get they do it for RAW too on Netflix but is sad that both streaming services force live events to have commercials when really it should be commercial free. 3) Really, in the end, it was a lackluster 1st night and pretty predictable. For them to hype this show this much, I expected better. Literally, the only surprises for Night 1 was Paige returning and maybe the return of Bron Breaker but outside of that, it was pretty bad.    Ok... I am done ranting. Maybe I will feel better after a good night's sleep 😂
