K I'm hoping on the bandwagon...

I strongly believe in supporting the home team. I've lived here all my life so I'll always support carolina teams. when i was about 10 I started supporting the panthers around 98-99. Didn't really care about football until then. I watched a lot of 95, 96 though.

I never really enjoyed watching basketball though. When I got to college it became easier to appriciate the game because we were good. So it was fun. My highschool team was good too so I enjoyed those games, but I didn't go to many. I really just hoped on the bandwagon. I was the fan of the week during football season though.

I really liked the hornets when I was a little kid. I didn't really agree with us getting a team because I didn't think the people wanted it. And it didn't really like the fatcats pushing the stadium through when people voted it down. *(I may be wrong on that issue, i haven't read into it as much as I should)*

But really I've just never really enjoyed the sport as much as I enjoy football. I enjoy everything about football. I actually post more in the off-season because I become desperate to talk about football because I'd bore my friends to death if I didn't have the huddle. One reason also was that we didn't have blacktop for miles where I lived so I mostly played football, frisbee, and every other kid thing. But I barely ever touched a basketball.

But the bobcats look pretty good this year so I want to support them. I didn't really think we should have recieved a team but since we have one in know way do I want them to fail. So I'll do what i can.

I don't even really know the fine points of the rules all that well either. And I don't really know every name on the team.

But if anybody is willing to give me a hand up on the bandwagon I'd appriciate it. I don't get off once I'm on.

I totally agree with kicking bandwaongers off once they decide to quit watching when the team sucks. But I feel like those that want on, the more the merrier. Although I can't stand hearing them talk. So since I don't know poo about basketball I'm probably not going to participate in much disscussions. *(I don't know poo about football either but enough to not sound like those local radio call-in fellows)*

Oh oh oh, can I come too!?!

Last time I watched NBA was back around 2000/01, mainly because I was pulled into a fantasy basketball league. Once that ended, I kind of lost interest.

However, I have been catching some of the games (when I could find them) here lately. It makes it alot easier to get excited about it with all of the recent exposure.

So if there's room, I think I'll take a seat on the Bobcats bandwagon too... although, I'd like to think we're still early

I can barely find any of the games they used to be on broadcast all the time back when I didn't watch lol.

One of my best friends is a D2 basketball player who loves the celtics and I'm trying to be able to talk more than just football. Everytime we play the celtics they beat us like the last second every time. I'm hoping we'll finally win this year.

I'm having the same problem. I have Charter, which from what I've seen/read, do not carry any Bobcats games on Sports South or Fox SN...

Nor the NFL network, yay charter! :rolleyes5:

    • overall agree on the draft grade as a whole on on each pick, but every time I read (and I have read it more than once) that we "gave up two firsts" for Bryce, I am confused. We gave up the 2024 first, but we swapped 2023 firsts, so we didn't give up anything there. We did give up our former first rounder in DJ, but I don't think thats what you mean as one of the "firsts" we gave up.
    • Didn't  see this posted (since 2023) but since folks have been posting that you can't judge a draft class for three years (a ridiculous take), I thought I'd post this to see what people thought about the 2023 draft. Unfortunately this may not be the most interesting class to do this with but I do quite like retrospective draft grades. Would appreciate other's takes on this (and other recent) draft classes.   1(1) - Bryce Young QB: I am a bigger Bryce Young apologist than most (maybe all). I like the kid. But there is no way around it: This was a terrible pick. If he had been picked in the 4th or even the 3rd round I would feel pretty good about it. But this was the first overall pick that we gave up two firsts, our best offensive player to get.  GRADE: C -    2(39) - Jonathan Mingo WR: not much to say here here. He was here for two years. His yards per catch are on par with Bryce's yards per pass. Rough stuff. To date he has still never scored a touchdown in the NFL GRADE: F   3(80) - DJ Johnson OLB: a pick I hated as soon as it happened and an example of why the premise of this thread is honestly dumb. This was a bad pick when it happened. Most people knew it.  Then came training camp and he did not look good. Then came the preseason which confirmed what we saw in TC. Then came the season which confirmed what we saw in preseason. To date, he has half a sack in his career. GRADE: F 4 (114) Chandlers Zavala G: Honestly the best pick of this draft which really speaks to how awful this draft is. Other than Bryce, the only pick still on the team. He is mostly average or below average depth which in round 4 is not terrible. But he had a pff score of 43.5 and though I think people have unrealistic expectations for draft picks, I still would want a little more from a fourth round pick GRADE: C+   5 (145) - Jammie Robinson S: I liked the pick when it happened but ended up being a disappointment. He logged 1 tackle with the falcons last year and not enough snaps to get a grade on PFF.  GRADE: F OVERALL DRAFT GRADE: F
