2010 Probowl GIVE YOUR OPINION

I like the idea. No players from the Super Bowl teams will be allowed to participate, fans get a look at the rest of the "best" players (hopefully), it becomes more accessible for NFL fans to see "their" favorite up close. From what I understand the players that have a Pro Bowl clause depend on being elected (opposed to actually playing) for it to pay out. It sounds pretty plausible to me.

It's likely that both Super Bowl teams will have a decent number of Pro Bowlers on their roster, so that probably takes 5-10 players out of the game. There's no way any coach would let their players risk injury by playing in a meaningless game.

It stated in the article that players elected, that were on the Super Bowl teams, would NOT be allowed to play. That won't be an issue.

Haha I expect all the players in the SB will not go for some reason cause can you see if one of them got hurt or how tired he would be in the SB. Sorry Dumb Idea Goodell. I think they need to try to do something like the NBA dose in like challenges and not just a game. It might be better IMO.

They do... The NFL just doesn't air it till sometime in the offseason...

I'm with Ashor. I don't mind them moving the game to the week before the Super Bowl but why move it out of Hawaii? Hawaii needs to build a bigger stadium and try to get one of those stupid "international" games.

I do like the idea of having the Pro Bowl also be the HOF bowl. That really would be a great way to start the season, however you are probably going to run into more issues with players rehabing from offseason surgries. Not to mention that most pro-bowlers don't even want to play in a preseason game so after training game I'm not sure how many would want to play in a preseason pro-bowl game.

Hmmm, at first I was WTF... now I kinda like the idea... that week of no football action is kind of dull... I bet lots more people will tune into it now

This is exactly how I feel.

Was WTF, now think it's a good idea.

Still will have to factor in a plan for what to do when a team(s) from large audiences like NY/Chicago/SF/Wash etc make it to the SB as their fans will have voted a large number of players in who wont be able to play.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
