I would say the bears would be the one closet to signing him. But the team with larger pockets like the cowboys and skins could offer even bigger contracts with larger amounts of money in them. If this kids agent knows whats best. Money is the main driving force at his age. Going to the bears would be a hugh misteak at this point. But at this point is seems Lovie Smith is doing everything in his power to save his job this year. By going after Rolle and Peppers. Bears over the next few days are going to be very busy. But they better worry about their WR core aswell. Because they have none.

no spending money on proven commodities like Rolle = success.

Not on guys like the ones we've blown money on.

why in the fug would a top five secondary in 2009 go and blow money on a safety when there are two young, promising cheap guys already on the team?

how in the world could you think that's a priority?

When we just blew up our line and are dangling our #2 CB for draft picks?

Not that I want Rolle.

I never said sign Rolle, I said a guy like Rolle that is proven at whatever position they play. Just using him as an example. Our big money guys weren't proven, but we paid an assload of money for them... That was my point.

We're never in the race for a big name guy that will command big money.

Wahle was paid big Guard money and was proven.

Lucas was up and coming.

Keyshawn was a great option for a #2

Keyshawn was worth it but I guess the FO doesn't want anyone telling them the truth about themselves. Although I don't think Key got a big contract.

Regardless, Lucas and Wahle weren't worth the money.

You gotta admit Kurb, the times we made big splashes they weren't very successful.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
