Game 63: Bobcats@76ers

Glad to see us really go out and win a game we should win on the road, and by a good margin.

I was flipping back and forth between the Canes game and this game and was hoping that we wouldn't blow the lead in the 2nd half. Cats looked great tonight, and were firing on all cylinders at times.

I know this is off topic from tonights game, but as i watched the game i didn't feel any ill-will towards the sixers, their announcers, fans or anything. Sure, i don't like 'em becuase they're not the bobcats, but i find myself beginning to hate the heat. After d-wade said last night "im not giving the bobcats credit..." and the way beasley guaranteed a win earlier, i feel as though the heat are becoming our biggest rival. I mean we play well against the big boys like cleveland and LA, but I respect LA. Miami i have zero respect for, and we play them 4 times a year.

Ahh, about time.

Things I loved about the game, the energy and urgency it's finally playoff time and the players know it's go hard every night or go home in a month.

Our bench was so-so still wish the FO would sign a definite scorer off the waivers or something, all the while the only place were "lacking" is the center position and that will definitely be fixed when Naz returns.

Negatives:

Brown overplaying the starters. It was cute in the first half but now it's time to monitor the starters minutes, it's ridiculous Wallace, Diaw, and Jack were playing well into the 4th quarter. Brown needs to get a hint that they're not young guys anymore save the gas for the big race not against the fuging Sixers lol.

All in all expect this Bobcat team to take it against the reeling Clippers.

Henderson has changed this team, guys. 4 straight wins since he started playing I think. You can't deny success.

He's a good defender and moves the ball on offense (seems to have good bball IQ, although he got trapped once when the scrubs were playing). Wish he could drive the ball or shoot jumpers. He never tries to drive on his man, always dribbles across perimeter or posts up. Guess he doesn't have a first step.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
