So where would you put Steve Smith on your top ten list of receivers?

Some receivers are great because of their QB, prime example is sidney rice last year, he wasn't poo til he had good old favre chuckin him the ball.

Jerry Rice is the best receiver of all time, but do you think his stats would come remotely close to what they were if he had Delhomme throwing to him, instead of Montana and Young...HELL NO they wouldn't.

So by talent alone without having an elite QB to hit the receiver at the best point of the route Smitty takes the trophy of GOAT. His play has been declining but not by too much, if it wasn't for warner fitz wouldn't of been have the receiver he is.

The most underrated receiver in the league I think goes to Jericho Cotchery of the Jets the guys a beast.

I agree the QB makes a huge difference. Its not too far off to say if Smitty had an elite QB his whole career he would make top 5 of all time. Rice was a great WR but having TWO back to back HOF QBs in his career did effect that sorry to say. During Rice's ENTIRE career he had the best QB in the league, it tends to make a difference.

But its like asking a what if question...it has no purpose as Fox says it is what it is.

Sometimes great WR's make the QB's better than they seem....and sometimes great QB's make the WR's better than they really are.

Rice helped Montana and Young.

Smitty helped Delhomme.

Manning1 helps Wayne.

Brees helps Colston.

It works both ways.

megatron is #1 on my list, smitty is #5 behind stewie griffin, michael jackson, and o.j. simpson (who was actually a running back, but granted he killed his wife without even using his own hands... says to me that he has the best hands out of any receiver in NFL history.)
