I am happy we didn't fork over that kind of cash. definatly not worth it. All these teams going crazy this offseason are going to be seriously hurting when the cap is reinstated.

Also, all these people freaking out over us not resigning our young core talent..... We will once the NFL gets its poo together with the players union and what not. Have a little faith people. The panthers are a great organization.

Depends on how the contract is structured. The signing bonus won't count against the cap since there isn't a cap. Remember that only the guaranteed money counts right now which is 24 million. The rest only counts if he is on the team. Paying what they did for a franchise wide receiver isn't out of the ball park. The only way they get hurt is if he has some off-field incidents or get suspended by the league which could be a possibility. Right now the franchise tag for receivers was around 8 million last year for an average of the top 5. He will get 10 million a year on average which is just about the going price these days. And he definitely is a top 5 receiver talent wise.
