SI's All Disappointment Team...

Look who made there mark as DOn Banks starting guard for his all disappointment team of 2008. lol I guess Fox and Hurney are better evaluators of talent than we give them credit for considering cutting Wahle was a big question mark at the beginning of the year.

"Offensive guard

Mike Wahle, Seattle -- The Seahawks snapped Wahle up in free agency, hoping he could solve the problem they've had at left guard since Steve Hutchinson got away to Minnesota. But Wahle's mediocre play only contributed to Seattle's season-long offensive line issues, and he was placed on injured reserve with a shoulder injury after just 10 games.

Ken Hamlin was also on the list, another guy who even I was begging for us to snap up in FA. Godfrey has been playing better than a rookie who played CB in college should be, so no complaints out of me and our new #30.

I'm SHOCKED by this one. It's amazing what one good game against Michigan can do for your draft status.

Outside linebacker

Vernon Gholston, Jets -- And to think that the Ohio State linebacker at one point was considered a candidate to go first overall in last April's draft. New York took him sixth overall, and he was hands-down the biggest disappointment of the first round. By season's end, he wasn't even making the game-day active roster. His 13 tackles, no sacks, no fumbles forced and no interceptions make him our easiest pick of all.

I couldn't believe some people were calling this guy a better DE than Long last year. He was a one trick pony in college that did nothing but rush the QB every single play. Only 37 tackles and no pass defenses (senior year) are terrible numbers for someone that was supposedly dominant.

I was on the Gholston Bandwagon for a minute, but then I really paid attention to him in the championship game last year. I saw way too much half assed effort in that game.

All those people that think Peppers takes plays off, need to go back and watch some of Gholstons' college footage, and you will see what taking plays off really means.

    • If Raiden were a Cane, he'd get the double minor.
    • I agree it does seem the league is against Charlotte but the picks they've made have been questionable. They've had sure fire picks fall to them and they keep trying to build a army of forwards who cannot shoot for some reason lol. You got to make a move in offseason and or trade for scoring. I get the best aren't coming to Charlotte but theres been opportunities at solid players with experience, that would've come just to be the man here in Charlotte. They got to stop over thinking this in the draft too. Take the best scorers available! I'm hearing we need more size on the wing, a big man, great defender, etc. but nothing about scoring or a shot creator. This team has been terrible at shooting the rock especially from the perimeter and its a iso 3 ball league, no one plays defense or really runs an offense. This franchise does not do well with developing players either. I've seen too many guys take huge leaps once they were away from Charlotte which is concerning. And even more concering that they're taking developmental guys when they have no business doing so. So, All that to say take a proven scorer, high basketball IQ guy, a unpolished player will not survive here.
