Corvo won't be a Cane again

Recommended Posts

Although Hurricane GM Jim Rutherford would like to add a top-four defenseman, it will likely not be Joe Corvo.

Corvo, who played for the Canes last season until he was traded to the Capitals in a deadline deal, is looking for more money than Rutherford wants to spend. Rutherford is content with his defense corps, but still would like to add some blueline depth and will be patient as he looks for a bargain.

This kinda dissapoints me I think bringing Corvo back would establish one of if not the best defensive groups in the NHL.

I mean we already have...

1. Tim Gleason

2. Joni Pitkanen

3. Anton Babchuk

4. Jamie McBain

5. Jay Harrison

6. Bobby Sanguinetti

7. Bryan Rodney

8. Casey Borer

Adding Joe Corvo would definitley solidify this teams defense.

    • From Persons mailbag section.  Is it me or is this worded a bit curiously?   Brown seems to be recovering well from his surgery to repair the meniscus he tore in Week 1 against New Orleans. Brown said his rehab started two days after his surgery in September, and it’s intensified the past few months with work on an exercise bike and anti-gravity treadmill. Brown’s goal is to be back for the opener. “I’m doing what the doctors and trainers are allowing me to do at this point. No rush, just trying to get back,” he said. “I would like to be able to be there when the team gets ready to play in September.”
    • I'm more interested in completion percentage and YPA (and wins of course), than yards or touchdowns. It's not too hard to imagine Young throwing for 3,900 yards in an abstract way. What is harder to imagine is who those yards are going to. That would probably require two 1000 pass catchers on our team. I don't know that we have two 1000 receivers on this team.
    • Cool let’s make it 5 attempts less (555), happy now? Lol
