Anyone been to this Scottish pub? It's somewhat new to Charlotte but looks like a cool place.

I got an e-mail from the Charlotte Beer Club about a new meetup there:

The Charlotte Beer Club is proud to invite you to a Scottish beer tasting at the "new" authentic Molly MacPherson's Scottish Pub & Grill. They have 2 locations in Georgia already. Molly's is located uptown on the corner of 5th and Church, across the street from the Dandelion. They boast, new to the area and hard to find, fine Scottish ales along with 100 Scotches and a Scotch Club! A great, authentic atmosphere will be enjoyed by us on Tuesday August 10th at 7pm. We will be sampling 5 different Scottish beers and 2 authentic Scottish appetizers for $19 per person (payable at event), this includes tax and gratuity. See you at Molly MacPherson's

I'm not sure. I don't know much about Scottish beers myself. Sounds like they've got a nice Scotch selection.

Funny story about scottish beer:

In April my Celtic band played with a band called Albannach, and it's 6 dudes and a chick straight from Glasgow, accents and everything.

After the show they went to the Tilted Kilt thinking they could get some good scottish ale. They were so pissed at the selection they said the place didn't deserve to be called a pub.

Which led to my band writing a new song, called, "it's not a pub"

Tilted Kilt actually has a pretty good selection of craft beer -- just nothing from Scotland. It's more like a Hooters than a traditional Scottish pub, I'm sure.

I guess Ri Ra is Irish isn't it. The few times I was in there, it was packed! However, I had a nice looking young lady start up a conversation with me. (She probably thought I was "safe", and if it looked she was chatting with me, guys wouldn't hit on her.)

I guess that's not a bad thing to be considered "safe" and not a letch at my age. (If they only knew! )
