Dear Jake,

Jake is average at best. Sure, he led us to some comebacks, but honestly, we didn't even really belong in the playoffs. Anyone remember his great performances against Oakland and Detroit? While is the fault of the O-coord for abandoning the run game, you don't throw into double and triple coverage time after time after time after time. I was yelling at my TV many times Saturday night when you could see either Williams or Stewart open in the flat, but Delhomme staring down Smitty deep only to toss another INT.

And here come the same old worn out excuses from the Jake Knob Slobbers. How terrible does Jake have to play in order for them to realize that Jake is not that great? I feel that he could go out and throw 10 INTs and have 5 fumbles in 1 game, slap Mr. Richardson, piss on Sam Mills' statue, take a dump on everyone's momma, and the same jock sniffers will still bring up that Super Bowl from 6 years ago as to why Jake is a GOD! Give it up already. Jake is a piece of sh*t QB who costs this team immensely.

I'm tired of the "Who are you going to get that's better?" answer. Something has to change on the Panthers. What? IDK but something. Jake? Fox? Turdo?

So you want to make a change just to make change but you don't know the answer? There is no one available more PROVEN than Jake. I would like to think Moore is progressing or we should be searching for the future. Fox like last season, does not have the future to look forward to, knowing he will use what he knows will work. Developing or taking a risk on a young QB is not his plans, and could set our franchise backwards in a few years. Change could be positive, but not when the other options are less than the one we have now, especially if you know you need to win NOW to keep your job.

I will also state that I am NOT throwing the towel in on Jake.

He had the worst game of his career. Ever. End of story.

We wouldn't be 12-4 going into the playoffs without him.

You think he's that easy to replace? I don't and I believe he can get us to the big game again.

We will see how this shakes out in the next few months. Count me in as one of the few who still believe in Jake. There are plenty on the team who do. I still believe in this team.

Are we perfect? No there's always room for improvement. I am not willing to rip what we have to shreds and throw my hands up and give up without a lot more evidence showing this team is not capable.

Any given Sunday, folks.

A change needs to be made at the QB position period. Jake gets too emotional and can't handle pressure. As you can tell with the 5 INTs which helped send us to the house. Let's develop Moore since we have him and let Jake take backseat. Jake is Proven alright ,proven to lose the game...

I agree with you Afro-Cat. I don't agree that Jake is the reason why we went 12-4. If you take the stars away from Jake and put average players in their place you would have a 4-12 season. He's not a great Quarter Back,Period. I will give him average at best.

    • this     I never cease to be amazed at the number of people who will run up their blood pressure to get to the grocery store 30 seconds faster or are racing to get to work like it won’t be there at 8:02.   The only thing I’ve ever done that I think added more years to my life besides quitting smoking, was to learn to go with the flow behind the wheel.
    • The term you're looking for is "malinger(ed)", and he didn't.  I'm not sure why Panthers fans act like jaded ex girlfriends.  The dude is clearly injury prone as his time in San Fransico also proves. It's not like he got to San Fran and stopped having problems.
    • My long and rambling post:   The guy is all heart, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back even better next year. He’s exactly the guy you lock up. The money won’t ever change the way he plays.  It was a big fumble, but what 1,000 yard back fumbles once in an entire season?  Pride. This team is FINALLY seeing guys who obviously take the game very seriously. Hunt, Chuba, Thielen, Brown, Horn (CB), Coker, Bryce (IMHO). Bye bye, Spider-Man. I don’t see these dudes being OK with teammates half-assing practice or in games. I can see Brown and Horn coming over to talk to somebody.  Good team? Ummm, maybe, but will still likely lose more close games than they win unless this last draft turns in to LOB part 2. That’s a stretch.  Pretty good/decent team. Yes. They finished the season as a pretty good team. I know I sound like a broken record harping back to it, but going in to ATL and putting a 40 burger on them en route to an OT win. A bad Panthers team would have had their brakes beaten off. We’ve seen it.  Rose colored glasses on and bonging a 40 of hopium: There are watershed moments that occur that change the course of franchises, both good and bad. If Fox doesn’t pull Rodney at halftime, the epic journey that was 2003 never happens. On the negative side, Cam taking that one hit from Watt was the end of any and all Panthers relevancy and we’ve been the biggest losers in all of pro sports as a result. Watershed moments. LOB draft. Vinny goes down and the goat is born.  Will the ATL game be the spark that this franchise has desperately needed? Could it be that they hit the mega million jackpot with Princley and Scourton as eat QBs for breakfast? Sure would be nice having 2 all-pro edge guys on the cheap for the next 4 years.  A lot of unknowns, but at least it actually feels  fun again.
