position grades for the year

the greatest

QB- C The only reason that they get such a high grade is because of his game in San Diego and Steve Smith.

RB- A+ Arguably the best one two punch in the league and argueably the best RB in the league.

OL- B+ They don't get an A because they couldn't stay healthy which i know isn't their fault but other than that they were great.

WR- B+ Steve Smith had a great year and Muhsin Muhammad was very reliable and Dwane Jarett was good with his limited playing time.

FB- A Brad Hoover had one of his better years and it showed through our run games production.

DL- C Did pretty good with their talent level just couldn't get consistent pressure.

LB- B Two very good LB's in Beason and Davis with a solid veteran it just felt that they were held back a little.

DB- D Ugh not much u can say here consistently out of place to many dropped interceptions i think the talent is there but they just need to execute.

OC- B+ the best offence the panthers have had ever but conservitive garbage handicapped us

DC- D- Consistent lack of preparation and planning basically screwed us toward the end of the year.

HC- C Don't know why but john fox has seemed to lost his "magic"

GM- B did a good job in the draft and free agency, very impressed lets see how he does this offseason.

feel free to post your own grades or comment on mine probably a little biased due towards me being ticked off about last night. ill probably make a thread on what we should do this offseason, or try and find that other thread ond post on that one. very disappointed in the way that we ended the season. :(

    • And, honestly, there's only so much you can attempt to do in the draft. And every draft pick is a roll of the dice. But that's where grabbing a ton of UDFAs, and targeting the best, makes a big difference. Sure, their individual chances of getting a hit here is less, but that shotgun pattern might just hit something.  Right now, we need bulk, partly to rebuild and partly to dilute the deep level of stank that has developed on this team in the last six years. If we're going to rebuild a culture built around culture, accountability and winning, then these UDFAs we bring in each season have to be the wash water that gets out that leftover dirt.  Canales seems to be a smart, culture-first, build up the good ones kind of guy. I like that and I hope he can keep it going here. But he was working against a locker room that had been taught to lose and taught to distrust or ignore coaches. He's got his work cut out for him, still. He does seem to have it moving in the right direction and that's something I was pretty amazed with by the end of last season.
    • The most telling sign, IMO, of a team on the upward swing is who we lost in the off-season. Who left that even saw the field? Woods, Clowney, Sanders, & Hekker. OK...no big deal. Clowney is the only 1 that I raised an eyebrow over and I get that it was a money decision. No need to pay him over $7M to take snaps from our draft picks when he was just OK last year.
