custom closets - worth the silent treatment?

i realize that, but the problem is, she had a designer come in and woo her with the real wood crap. when i shot that down and took her to lowes and home depot, those weren't up to par.

i guess the do-it-yourself kits do not "smell of rich mahogany."

i don't think you have to tell anyone here. closets aren't a place you spend a lot of time. they aren't usually seen by guests. there's no need for them to be anything more than whats needed. you've got me thinking of Goldie Hawn in Overboard.

am i a bad husband for telling my wife, "no, i will not pay $6,000 for someone to customize our closets?"

if i had $6,000 to piss away, it sure wouldn't be on a "custom closet."

do you concur?

You're a great husband for that... We can not let these women control us or our wallets. Welcome to the club sir. You will make a fine addition. Here's your t-shirt.

I observed a very high end home being built for a project while I was at school. The custom builder just built them their own closets. The closet contractors are really expensive, really not worth the premium.

you want something that's sturdy. Don't get some cheap thing with veneer. Get solid wood and use something with sturdy finishings. You can trim it with some of the smaller 1" trim pieces you can find at any home center.

It's pretty simple stuff especially if your used to doing little projects around the house.

    • I had to go and look up who our QB coach is and it's just some random jabroni. https://www.panthers.com/team/coaches-roster/will-harriger Meanwhile we threw $8 million at Andy Dalton just to be a friend to Bryce Young and Bryce once again opened the season looking like a bottom 3 QB at best. Just clownery all around.
    • If the Panthers draft Sellers, it will be a disaster. He is a freak athlete, but he can’t read simple college defenses, much less NFL defenses. It will take a year or two for him to develop into an NFL QB. I’m afraid if he’s drafted by the Panthers he’ll be thrown in the fire on day one.
    • lol, it’s impossible to talk Carolina Panthers and it not simply all boil down and return to the singular biggest problem present day.  Bryce. (Tepper technically is but that can’t be changed) It’s no different when it became clear the primary problem was simply Matt Rhule.   People would do what you just did.  Boy, you sure do hate Matt Rhule!  We simply have reached a point where the biggest problem is so simplistic and obvious…not much matters until you deal with that.    It’s not hate.  It’s just standing against the insane gaslighting going on.  Bryce was a top 10 QB Sunday! 10 drops!  The actual problem was Hunter Renfrow! lol.
