The Bright Side

Yes we sucked ass yesterday in just about every conceivable manner. We need to let that go. We know Jake isn't going to be the answer in the future and that our coaching staff isn't as good as we'd like but there is a lot to like about the future:

DeAngelo Williams/Jonathan Stewart: These guys are amazing and should be around for a LONG time, so we will have that to look forward to. Sure they were underutilized in our loss but it was just one game.

Dwayne Jarrett: I think he will be something special, easily our answer for a 3rd WR. He was running crisp routes and has made some good catches this year, so hopefully he gets the roster spot next season and we get the ball in his hands. If he can turn out to be a good blocker even better.

OL: For the first time in the longest we have a very solid OL with very few noticeable holes, and the backups aren't half bad either. I doubt getting Gross back will be as big of an issue as some of you may feel it is. Even better, most of these guys are young and should be with the team for a long time.

Brayton: He's made remarkable progress over the course of the season, playing well against the run and much improved on passing downs. Along with rotational support from CJ we should be fine at LDE for a while.

Peppers: He may walk, which will be good for our team. Don't get me wrong, he's a tremendous athlete but he doesn't have the motor the truly great DE's have and he isn't worth that kind of money. What does this mean for us? It means we'll have a lot more cap room to fix our issues.

LB Corps: We have two of the best LB's in the league with Beason and Davis, and they'll be around for a while as well. Most teams struggle to find one good, consistent linebacker, we have 3.

Gamble/Harris/Godfrey: The core of our secondary is very strong and should be even better next year with more time together, chemistry is important for DB's so another year together will only help.

    • This is the Saints current QB room, a 2nd round rookie and former 4th and 5th round QBs.  Pretty sad when Rattler is your best option even though Shough is tops of their depth chart for right now. Dude would have been a day 3 guy in the 2024 QB class right there with Rattler.  A paper thin QB class pushed Shough to a day 2 pick.  Expect them to sign a veteran before training camp.
    • D Carr must have really disliked the saints to wait and do this announcement after the draft has passed if he made this call a few weeks before the draft sure they would have approached it and the offseason differently.  oh well will be interesting to see how their qbs perform.  would love to see them roll with Thill and just make the whole offense towards his skillset.  Although sadly would be only playing in about half the games with how often he gets injured.
    • I have to say it's quite fascinating seeing you pivot from months and months of wailing and agonizing about threads derailing into Bryce Young slingfests only for you to turn around and do the same thing. And just for the record. Nobody in life ever attained wisdom and clarity from mistakes by having people blindly fawn over them and tell them they are above reproach and incapable of making mistakes. Our front office is just as human as we are. And based on the fact that front offices across the league outside of a handful of teams change on a fairly regular basis it's safe to say they are certainly no more infallible than the average Joe even though they possess significantly more knowledge usually. If you want a utopia where all you do is shine shoes for anyone associated with the Panthers you go right on ahead and create yourself a new community sir. More power to you.
