Outsider Looking In.....

Most people think this is a garbage team this year that will struggle to win 4 games. Then against most people who aren't fans don't have a clue about this team.

:iagree:

It's either because we are a "small market team" or because when we made it to the Super Bowl, the only thing people remember is that the Patriots won and Janet Jackson showed her bewbie...

Unsettled Qb situation, Scrub filled WR group, Great Running Game, No Name Defensive Line that will struggle, Ramshackle LB group of unknowns outside of Beason, Decent Corners and No Name Safties, at best a 7-9 team.

As outsider looking in I would say that is pretty much dead on. Although I don't think the QB thing is an issue, I think Moore will do fine. That D-Line is going to be the biggest question mark and if they aren't good....look out. If you can't stop the run up front, everything else around it will fall apart even if the secondary is good. Maybe the D-line will surprise in a good way, who knows? They definitely need to avoid injuries. I think the Panthers can be up to a 9-7 team.

I have seen supposedly "objective" articles ranging anywhere from 6-10 to 11-5. Some power rankings have us as low as 23, Peter King had us at #8.

This is proof of what many have said on this thread...no one outside the players and coaches knows what to expect.

Youth and inexperience on the DL and WR will cost us a few wins. Improved QB play should earn us those wins back. Probably not a playoff team...another 8-8 year and Foxy jets to another city.

    • Does this mean only topics from within the last year or any topics with posts from the last year? i.e. if there are any old threads we feel should be kept around for whatever reasons, would a bump of that thread before the update ensure it's kept around in full or do the posts from more than a year old still disappear?
    • I'm more intrigued at him becoming our future LG. There were some people who thought he was better suited to be a guard in the NFL to begin with.  Then if Freeling ends up being a legit LT, moving Ickey to LG could give us an incredibly strong left side of our OL for years to come. Ickey has only played on the Left side his whole career, both in college and the NFL, so I just wonder if keeping him on the left side, even if shifting inside, would be better than putting him outside on the right side. Just hoping him growing up a Panthers fan will make him want to stay here and move positions than enter FA so he can stay at LT somewhere else, particularly since LT is the big money position on the OL, so he likely can get paid more by someone else to play LT than play LG or RT here for us.
