Game 10 Clausen Becomes Starter

The only thing I disagree with here is the "Moore is a proven winner" line. Again, if Jimmy Clausen was akin to Tom Brady sitting behind Drew Bledsoe or some other established QB that had taken their team to the playoffs, I would tend to agree with you. But Moore is just another young quarterback who's resume entails getting cut by the Cowboys and then winning a few meaningless games late last year for the Panthers. That said, a win is a win.. which is why I think his relative experience makes him the clear frontrunner.. for now.

I think this best describes how I feel!

He got a couple carries. None of them really amounted to much from what I remember.

2 Carries for 0 yards is what ESPN says.

Sounds 'bout right.

He was oft-involved in the conversations w/ Jim Skipper, Williams and Stewart, though. So was Goodson.

It seems to me like Goodson and Sutton are about as close as Williams and Stewart are. They were always together on the sideline

Whats the over/under on you saying something worth reading? JJ but seriously

There is 0% chance that I say anything worth reading. Especially considering SLJ is 80% of what's worth reading on this forum.

I believe they are. They room together during camp at least. I can forsee Goodson being gone, but considering how Sutton filled in at FB (and RB) last year...

lol +Pie

EDIT:

SLJ is Samuel L. Jackson. He's a poster on here.

A while ago someone mentioned that 95% of the Huddle was worthless garbage, and SLJ was 4% out of the 5% that's worth reading. So, SLJ is essentially 80% of the meaningful posts on the huddle.

The +Pie was for this reference. :P

I understand your point. I probably have a different outlook on the definition of "winner" in this regard. I can see how some would view a winner as someone who has lead the team to the playoffs or better. I mean it as in he has won more games in the NFL than he has lost. As for the Bledsoe Brady comparison; The situation is more akin to the Delhomme MM situation. Brady was a late round relative unknown until Bledsoe went down. Brady came in and kicked a##. Before he did no one was really chomping at the bit to give Brady a shot over Bledsoe. And MM was placed on the practice squad only because the Cowboys only carried 2 QB's that year. Romo and Bledsoe were the obvious front runners and MM was an ufa rookie. The cowboys actually liked him quite a bit. Just didn't have room for him.

I see... your right! Another meaningless post to me but your inside sarcasm I guess is funny to someone!

    • Unless this team plans on overpaying for Rasheed Walker who in my mind is the only long-term starting LT option in free agency then bringing back Yosh is a must.  We have no depth at the tackle spots and with Ickey's and Brady's injuries plus Moton's chronic knee troubles we need to bring it at least 3 tackles in this offseason.  Bring back Yosh plus another vet OT and take 1 in the draft. Let Yosh, another vet, and our highly drafted rookie battle it out for the starting LT job in camp and let the best man win.  Ickey struggled early on his rookie year so having a vet option or 2 on the roster to turn to would be wise.  I'd also like us to bring back Corbett at center as he'll likely come back for the vet minimum, and I wouldn't be shocked if Cade Mayes got a really expensive deal on the open market. Some team that loses out on Tyler Linderbaum is going to overpay Cade Mayes.
    • I'd offer him a decent salary on a 3 year deal that's front loaded, or a 1 year deal that's higher $$ wise because he's likely more important to us than anyone else this coming year.  Doesn't keep us from drafting an OT either way IMO, and we cover our asses in FA and see where the draft/Ickey's rehab lands.
    • Yep. BUT, even if Canales does become stagnant, I'd argue he did his job...of turning this back into a decent job instead of one only a WR coach would take.  Obviously the owner and front office may play more of a role in that aspect, but we're back to showing potential coaches we're not a total clown show.
