How does Flacco score 0 points?

1 point for every 50 passing yards? are you serious? talk about deflating the QB position.

john kasay got 5 points for kicking a 52 yard field goal. a quarterback has to throw for over 200 yards to equal that.

if a kicker kicks 3 40 yard field goals he gets 12 points. a QB has to throw for 600 yards to get 12 points.

U must have forgotten to submit him to your lineup.

no, its the scoring that is mess up. he got 1 point for every 50 yards passing (4 for the first 200) then had -2 for a fumble and -2 for an interception.

espn fantasy flacco's exact same performance earned him 6 points.

at yahoo he earned 5.12 points

1 point per 50 is a little out of wack.

oh, and check this out

a WR gets 1 point per 10 yards receiving plus a 1 point bonus for receptions over 40 yards. so if a QB throws a 40 yard pass, the WR gets a total of 5 points for the play and the QB gets ZERO!

if they connect for another 40 yard pass, the WR now has 10 points and the QB has just 1 for the 80 passing yards. (for the first 50 only).

oh, WR's also get .5 points per reception so that's another bonus point for the two catches so he really has 11 points. of course the QB gets no bonus for completions.

man this league is stacked heavy against the QB.

man this league is stacked heavy against the QB.

you just get dumber and dumber with every post...if you checked the scoring from last year (using the same rules), you'd find it was pretty balanced among offensive players (yes, including the QBs).

The points system was tweaked last year to bring balance to the league. The previous year (2008), QBs were worthless. Last year A LOT of tweaking and testing was done to make as evenly as possible, the number of QBs, RBs and WRs in the top 60 (or maybe even 100) in the league.

After 2 weeks, the Top 53 scorers break down as:

QB - 12

RB - 13

WR - 16

There are 5 Tight Ends and 7 Defenses to complete 53. Clearly, QBs aren't getting a fair shake :rolleyes5:

I'd like to see how our scoring system could be tweaked to make it any more balanced.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
