Not trying to monopolize the board, just can't sleep tonight.

I asked Fox after the game what his team's identity was right now. And Fox - who has almost always answered that question with some variation of "We run the ball and stop the run" - instead said honestly that he didn't know.

Of course, it's not like Fox has only had two weeks to evaluate this team. He had a whole training camp, and he had to have known some of this was coming after Carolina didn't score an offensive touchdown all preseason. When the Panthers released Jake Delhomme - I wrote when it happened in March that was a big mistake and I still believe that now - the Panthers left themselves as the most inexperienced team in the NFL at the most important position.

Neither Moore nor Clausen distinguished themselves Sunday. At this point I'd start Clausen next Sunday, incidentally, because he at least gets rid of the ball a little quicker.

I asked linebacker and team leader Jon Beason what the team's identity was as well. Said Beason simply: "We don't have one."

That's a problem.

I agree with everything, including the Jake part. Wrong guy was let go, imo. Why is it taking so long for Fox to figure out who he has on this team? Why are the Panthers re-signing guys we waived like Lloyd, and C.J. Wilson(he was just re-signed this past Friday for those that don't know) instead of going for at least decent players but then released Jake instead of letting him stay as a back-up for Jimmy? Why do we pass 4 times with a QB like Moore on 4 and goal last week but run with a QB like Jimmy yesterday? Shouldn't that have been the exact opposite?

Why on God's earth would we resign player's who know the playbook after two players got hurt last week?!!!

Really? Lloyd needs to know the playbook?

That's a retarded mentality. Why don't every other team do that then? Why go after better players when they can all just re-sign their old players they cut? Give me a break.

If this isn't obvious signs of penny pinching, then I don't know what is.
