andy reid is stickin with his guy though..............flacco,farve,alex smith all have bad stats yet the will be starting next week.....jake got to suck for years before being called out, behind either our defense, running game,or smith he was able to remain hidden.

with all the ish that needs fixed on our team it's a surprise we haven't been blown out the last two games.even with putting jimmy in the major problems still remain....you just throw a rookie in there to hide the fact.

huh? he benched kolb for vick.

anyway, this thread is old news. the best and most talented QB now has the job.

moore did his job which was to help our exit from the jake era and help bring about the jimmy era. he'll be a footnote. i like the guy but he's just not cut out for the lead job, esp. when there's someone like clausen waiting in the wings.

if he should happen to land a starting job sometime, hopefully that team won't have a clausen type player fall into their lap.

moore's done and clausen is now your QB. hop on board.

    • I've shown you numerous comps for other tackles in the same age and talent range.  His contract, taking into account his age, health, etc.  is the going rate.  It's a fair deal. I've shown you examples of how long it usually takes to find even an average replacement.  Hell, look at every tackle that has ever started for the Panthers.  How many would you consider a success?  They are not easy to find. After everything we've done with this team since drafting Bryce why would we decide to let our best linemen go and add a huge question mark at tackle?   FA is a crapshoot in which any guy available will have cons/issues.  If not, they'll cost a fortune.   Outside of a first or maybe 2nd round pic next year it'll take a few years for a tackle to learn the position at the NFL level.  There are still questions about Icky. Every vet NFL player deals with maintenance.  Between the contract value and history I'm not overly worried about his knee.  I contend his knee issue isn't anything to be overly worried about.  It's not zero risk but it's an acceptable risk.  Every player we draft and every contract we sign has risk.  You're blowing up his own negative words about his knees and ignoring him saying he is healthy and the knee is a non issue.  You have a strong chicken little complex with this team.  Being he has always been a Panther they are very aware of any health issues. We paid now because now is cheaper.  If his knee was really an issue they would have waited.  That tells me it's not the issue you want it to be.
