Just posing an honest question here - all other things being the same, is this team 0-4 if Jake Delhomme was still here? Not saying I wanted him to stay, I offered to help him pack. Just curious, would a shattered but "been there before" veteran like Jake have us at 2-2 perhaps?

How can you possibly say he is our best play maker this year? He is a distraction if anything this year...he hasn't acted like a team player at all...he seems more worried about his stats than victories, do you disagree with this?

Um, Smitty is without question our best playmaker. The fact that the QB's haven't been able to get him the ball, our o-line sucks, there is no offensive chemistry, he's constantly double covered, etc. does not change that fact one bit. That's like saying a Ferrari isn't fast because it has been sitting in the garage.

Our best playmaker is a "detriment to the game"? That's ridiculous. If Jimmy can't handle being held accountable by his teammates then he should find another job. He's a big boy, he can handle it. Anyone who thinks we're better off without Smith in the game is insane. And, unlike Moore and Delhomme, Clausen has not shown a tendency to lock onto to Smith at all. He spreads the ball around just fine even when Smith is in the game, so he has not been "focusing just on Smitty." And again, to say that Gettis, after ten catches in the NFL, is Smith's replacement, is just absurd.

Sadly, there are a lot of fans who have turned on Smith and think this team would be better off without him. They are absolutely ridiculous.
