I don't know if the fanbase knew what happened in regards to the Peppers situation...or are capable of understanding. He said he was open to contract negotiations last year...that fell on deaf ears. He never received as much as a phone call from the FO.

But how we know Pep was open to contract negotiations when he clearly wanted out & turn down a contract extension twice? I think the guys were fed up with Pep holding them as hostage there & decide to move on. That more on Pep than JR & others. That & Pep wanted more money. After all, he wanted to play for the Patriots & Cowboys without even mention the Bears until they give him a lot of money & he signed with them.

Can you really blame the guy for leaving? The fans who are pissed at Peppers need to focus on the bigger picture...that we now have the shittiest owner in the league and this is his "master plan".

You think we should pay Pep over $90 millions like the Bears pay him & lose some of our best players as a result after the lockout?? If you want to look at the shittiest owner in the league, then that is Al Davis. I seen the big picture alright & it would be dumb to pay Pep more than we can afford.

Hate to say it, but put yourself in DeAngelo Williams, Jon Beason or Ryan Kaili's shoes...would you want to resign here? We may end up losing our best players anyways even without paying Pep. And yes, actually I remember Pep saying something last year after TC that he really liked Meeks' defense and would be willing to sign an extension.

I'm guessing you people did not watch the pro bowl right before we franchised him and made him the highest paid defensive end ever. No true Carolina Panther fan could have seen his interview during that game and have any respect for him.

Again, that's when we still had Turgovac. I dont blame him for what he said. Turd's play calling was terrible and he didn't know how to use Peppers. How many times did we see him drop into coverage? Later after the tag and when we got Meeks is when he stated he was open to a new contract. But who am I kidding. Im just wasting my time with you. You already have your reality made up in your head. You want to question my fan hood, well I question your IQ.

A few years back that shh to the crowd was all the rage on UNC basketball team. Pep might have been on that team. The players did it at the home games.

2nd he was smart to bolt, If I was in his shoes I would have took the money and ran to. Look what a cluster this team is right now. from the top to the waterboy

Funny indeed. KK once said he will never support the team as long Jake & Fox are there like 2 yrs. ago. People who say they will never support the team should go root for another team & never the Panthers again like a bandwagon jumper. While I understand some fans may not like a player or coach or whatever on the team, it doesn't mean they shouldn't stop Beason, Williams, Smith, Gamble, T.Davis, etc. though.

Anyway, doing better now, Mr. Salty?? ;)

    • I read that Pittsburgh is a possibility.  I think of college QB studs who had some form of mental quirk yet tons of talent--but their issue made being a team leader difficult and it led to their demise--going back:  Jamarcus Russell, Art Schlichter, Jeff George, etc. I think people forget that the QB must not only have talent, but they must lead.
    • I wish I knew more details, but the NIL money to 20-year olds combined with easy access to gambling sites is a side effect that these kids may not have considered.  To your point,A famous 2009 Sports Illustrated article titled “How (and Why) Athletes Go Broke” estimated that 78% of retired NFL players go bankrupt or face significant financial stress within two years of leaving the league.  I am guessing that ego and $$$ and the thrill of competition (most pro athletes love competition because they are the winners) makes it a powerful temptation.  Throw in the ease of gambling on your phone which is always in your hand, and I see your point x 10.
    • Freeling got some reps at RT when they gave Moton a rest day--I sorta hope Freeling gets brought along slowly as you describe.  It would be better for him for reasons you provide.  We have a really good problem.
