Prediction:The 2009 Carolina Panthers will have a losing record and Fox will be fired

its still way to early to make predictions. We will have alot of talent again next year and if we have a draft like last years, we will get some immediate starters. I dont think our record will be as good as this years. But I think we will do ok. The D-line may turn out to be better with the cap room and free agency. Make predictions at the start of camp after the draft and the majority of free agents are picked up.

BELIEVE!!!!

Personally, I think that history is just that. History. There are so many changes that happen each year to rosters and coaching staff that it's impossible to predict. We may play worse, but FA and the draft could also put the missing puzzle pieces in place. Who's to say our schedule for next year is going to be any tougher than this year, as any one of those teams could have losing years as well. I won't make any predictions, but I do know that having low expecatations usually leads to a pleasant surprise. :D

Indeed. If this year alone didn't show people that the past is meaningless and all those idiotic "records" media talk about are insignificant (such and such team has never won at X stadium, etc), I don't know what year would. All that EVER matters is what a team plays like on any given Sunday/Monday/Saturday/Thursday.

That said, he certainly has a right to predict whatever he wants.

My prediction is that we have back to back winning seasons for the first time, win 10 games next year and make the playoffs. Our defense will be okay but our offense will be top 10. Jake will have a great year, DeAngelo will go to the pro-bowl, we will upgrade the defensive line at DT and DE and will draft a shutdown corner. Our return game will improve to the point that we actually run one back for a TD.

How do I know this? I don't, but my predictions make as much or more sense that those predicting gloom and doom. Instead of worrying about all the hard teams we play, I expect at least a few of them are lamenting they have to play the NFC South this year.

    • Mel Kiper said he would retire if Jimmy Clausen wasn't a successful NFL starter too. Just because the experts make a claim doesnt mean it's true either.  Bryce may be a serviceable QB for someone. Serviceable QBs don't bring you a perennial winner or lead you to the playoffs over and over. Serviceable QBs also dont get 50m plus per year deals which is what a Bryce extension would look like.  The stats show he hasn't been even a serviceable QB in the 3 years he's been here. The eye test shows he hasn't put together 2 franchise QB salary games back to back in 3 years.  Complain all you want about people being negative, but people pointing out that Bryce is held to a different standard than anyone else on the team isn't complaining. It's stating the obvious.
    • We have big bodied WRs and 3 TEs who all have potential and each bring something different to the table. I never saw the need to go out there and try and find a new starting TE.  While it's nice to have a guy like McBride, Bowers, etc, I think a team's better use of the cap is by having TEs on rookie contracts or cheap vets, not having to pay elite TE money.
    • He had the award until like the last 8 games. He sucked ass and flagg had 3 40 point games
