I thought the same thing! It' looks like a 9 mil Glock, but you really don't get a good look at it.

9mm handguns are fine if you want to shoot paper targets or for close quarter protection, such as being in a house. They have absolutely no business being carried by US soldiers. The only reason I see why the DOD went with 9mm as a side arm, is that a 45 has too much spring tension to be pulled back by female soldiers. (Ladies, I'm not saying that women shouldn't serve in todays armed forces, they should. Women typically don't have the grip strength to pull back on a 40 S&W let alone a 45 ACP.) In open warfare the 9mm just doesn't hold up. I think the DOD is starting to realize this in Irag and Afghanistan. We owe it to our military personnel to equipped them with something better than a pea shooter!

There have been numerous reports on the ineffectiveness of the 9mm in combat conditions. That's my rant for today.
