Steve Smith wasn't lying...

He REALLY didn't want to be the #1 WR anymore, and he is getting older. He didn't have the speed to get around a LB and to the outside from the middle of the field earlier in the game. Then he runs 5 yards backwards with no chance of getting the first down of which he was already about 3 yards short when he caught it. Then proceeded to fumble it and give it to the Rams.

Not to mention the multiple drops on perfect throws he had today, I've counted about 3. And you wonder why Moore looks bad (other than the INT)?

We suck. While they were cutting vets, they should have traded him for anything they could get. Maybe the YMCA will give us another Squat Rack for our weight room for him, being that he loves playing there so much that he ruined his career. Good work Smitty!

Better work on that charming personality because now that you suck, being an asshole doesn't work quite as well.

If he made those catches he would have like 90 something yards and people here would say OMG STEVE SMIF is back. Seriously shut the hell up all of you. He's still getting open but Moore is locking on to him when other guys are open. That said he needs to work on his hands big time.

Even if Matt was locking on to him, he dropped a bunch of catchable passes and the game-turning fumble mistake belongs to him.

Nobody trying to hear that poo. He was bad last game

If Steve caught those passes we may have scored some points and got something going. Both passes placed right on target

THEN HE F*CKING FUMBLED WHEN IT MATTERED MOST

OC shoulda called less running plays and more plays for Gettis

No, I wouldn't. I, along with a few others, said last week that Smitty isn't the same player. You can see it. Yes, he can still get open, but he isn't pulling away from people like he did in his prime. And I don't ever remember him dropping this many passes.

It sounds like wishful thinking on your part. No thanks.

Exactly. Moore has had a couple shitty plays on his own but Smitty isn't helping him when he does get the ball to him.

Someone start the petition for Carolina Huddle brand tampons.

Yeah, and while you're at it, make sure to start one for your mancrush Brayton... Don't forget to mention how his offside led to that 1st TD! What a player!!!?!?!?

I suggest you call it the "Coalition for the Advancement of Unathletic White Defensive Ends."

Brayton didn't have a great day but one offsides call hardly means he isn't good. No one on our team had a good day, so your argument doesn't really make sense. Should we cut every player on our team?

Also, Smith just put the team on his back to bring them down field and then threw a sick block to let Lafell in for the TD. Dude sucks.

Brayton's play led to the Rams putting 7 on the board. Both the offsides and then getting his feet caught in cement on a screen. But, by all means, feel free to ride his jock all the way into retirement.

My argument makes plenty of sense.

Smitty's play took possible points off of the board for us with his drops and fumble. Great, awesome, he threw a block to get 7 points on the board after he got us down with his play in the first place.

So Smith threw a block for a TD in garbage time and he's redeemed? Get out.

He's just as much of a problem as anyone else on this team right now. Drops, fumbles, really?

And whomever said "Who else is he going to throw too?" were you on vacation last week? Gettis 2 TD's, LaFell 91 yards, wake up. The coaches blew it too, horrible playcalling once again. Stupid Cleveland reject calling offense.

I have an idea, let's come out the next week, against a sub-par team, after our 2 rookie WR's had a coming out day, and NOT throw to them. Let's go back to locking onto Smith.

And Smith is at fault also cause I know he's demanding passes and whining. I'm tired of him. Trade for something.

    • It's also worth noting that Cam himself said that he felt safer when running vs. sitting in the pocket because he could see the contact coming and prepare for it. A QB running the ball doesn't have to be a sledgehammer. He just has to be effective.
    • That Falcons game is about as good as it gets. Especially on the road. I know the Falcons defense was bad but he was cooking with Coker, an undrafted rookie get the bulk of the receptions. If your QB has 5 TDs and 0 turnovers he is playing like a top QB, yardage be damned. The big question for me is how consistently can be play the whole season?  I don’t expect a game like that every week, but I also don’t want to see any performances like the pre benching or that Cowboys game (which was bad post benching). Bryce’s best shot at being the guy is becoming a mini-Burrow who is about as consistent as you can get at the QB position.  The good news is this QB class should be a fun one. So hopefully Bryce becomes the guy, if not it’s a nice class to let DC pick his QB and they should come into a great situation with a good OL, RB, young talented WRs etc…
    • Bryce Young is far less risky with his body when he runs than Richardson and doesn’t take many unnecessary big hits. Was much more worried about injury when he had that abysmal OL his rookie season than I ever would be when he runs/scrambles. 500/10 seems like a fairly reasonable prediction considering he had 250/6 in 12 starts last season. Of course literally anybody CAN get hurt, it’s just that we were assured by many huddlers that it was a sure thing with Bryce Young that he wouldn’t make it to this point in his career without significant injuries.
