Enough blaming everyone, who is actually to blame and why

So a lot of people throwing around a lot of thoughts on who they think the culprit of this craptaculer season is. JR, Fox, Hurney, Davidson, Moore, and just about anybody else on the Panthers payroll.

Fans have a right to be mad. This season has been horrible in all aspects. But it would help if people knew who to be mad at. There is plenty of blame to go around and all of the people mentioned deserve some sort of recognition for this disaster. There are, though, two people that bear most of the blame and only one of those two is directly at fault for this season, though not in the way everyone thinks that he is.

JR did go cheap in anticipation of the upcoming lockout. A lot of fans fault him for the season because of this. Although if you think about it, this roster is not "bad". At least on paper.

On offense Moore had a lot of potential coming into the season, Clausen also has the traits to be a pretty good QB. We had two 1100 yd RB's, an All-Pro WR, an OL that carried a lot of continuity and talent, TE's that may not be spectacular but are solid, a stable of rookie WR's that could contribute.

On D we have a secondary that was returning all of its players and played very well the year before, the DL is young and full of talent, our LB's are some of the best in the league. I don't really want to focus on the D though because they in no way are our problem, they are playing great until the end of games when they are gassed.

So looking at our roster, I don't think that you can blame JR for too much. Honestly there is a lot of talent there. There may not be a whole shitload of big contracts but there are a lot of big names. Please don't try to make a case that some of these guys are pissed that they didn't get big time extensions. That is all the more reason that some of these players shouldn't be sucking so much ass. With the roster we have there is no reason we shouldn't be able to get at least .500 or above.

With Fox, JR may have made a miscalculation. He maybe should have let him go. However, with the looming lockout and Fox needing a good year to prove to future employers that he could still be a great coach there was not as much risk in this decision as some believe. He could either let Fox go and pay him $6,000,000 for nothing plus another HC for this year or he could keep Fox, force his hand and be sitting pretty whether a lockout happened or not. From a business standpoint, there was only one way to go and make no mistake the NFL is a business.

Fox is also our other main villian in this tale. A lot of people want to see him walk, and they will in due time. However, probably not right now.

This team is still playing hard for him and that is mostly what counts. As bad as this team is if you do promote a coordinator to HC then you are not actually getting to see if he is a good HC because this team is already ruined. You may accidentally let a great HC walk.

Fox is the reason that this season is busted. Not because he is not a good HC and not because he sucks at anything. The reason Fox is to blame is something he said before the season ever started and his body language and attitude to begin the campaign.

The begining of the end was the release of Harris, not because of his great skills but because that was when Fox became pissed that he was "on a budget". He let that little trinket out to the media and proceeded to go into "fug it" mode for the pre-season.

The team, being young, caught this disease rather quickly and it spread fast. Pretty soon, no one on the team really seemed to know why they were out there and what they were being paid for. By the time that Fox realized he needed to start giving a damn if he was not going to fug up his coaching resume, it was too late. Now with this young team they can't seem to get thier heads out of thier collective asses.

That was the exact moment the season went to hell and the person most responsible. Fox. No one probably hates it more though becuase he is fuging up his future the most with this abysmal season.

So if you are looking for someone to blame, Fox is your man. The reason that this season is ruined is because Fox felt he couldn't win with a young roster and pretty much made every attempt not to until it was too late.

Blaming Fox is just ignorant. It's plain to see that he was f*cked from the beginning with this roster.

How was he fuged from the get go with this roster?

Are you telling me that no HC in the NFL could win with this roster? That is utter bs because there are teams with much less talent that are winning games.

JR had us cut most of our veterans in the off-season and then signed no one. We were left with a handful of great players, but mainly we just have rookies and reject FA's. This sent a clear message to the coaches and the players that JR's priority this season was not winning. That, coupled with the fact that Fox has no future here, has led to all the coaches and players not giving a f*ck. They know that their owner didn't give them a chance from the start.

The Panthers have been deteriorating for the last several seasons. That is all on Fox. We have swapped out players and coordinators and assistants and just about everything else on this team, yet they still play the same ol Foxball bs. Fox and JR are a recipe for running a team into the ground.

As much as ignorant fans like to hate on "Foxball" because it's conservative and not "exciting" enough for them, it works perfectly fine with the right pieces in place. Specifically, a good O-Line and running game, a good D-line and a defense that causes turnovers, and a QB that doesn't f*ck up. We don't have any of those things right now, and JR refusing to sign anyone in the off-season obviously didn't help that.

It was only two seasons ago that we were one of the top teams in the NFC. But yeah, 12-4 is deteriorating for sure.

The "this team is talented" poo has to stop and stop now.

This is hands down the worst "NFL" team I have ever watched. Do you know we have about half as many points as the next closest team?

Stop being homers and open your fing eyes, this team is pathetic.

So the reason we are not any good is because JR forced Fox to play with a roster consisting of Gross, Wharton, Kalil, Steve Smith, Williams, and Stewart as his only pro-bowl caliber players on offense?

This team is dis-organized and doesn't know how to win. I wouldn't say that there is no talent on this roster that a HC could win with. Fox at the begining of the season had a chance to either take this young team and mold it into a bunch of good players or to mope around because all of his over the hill veterans were gone. He chose to infect the team with an attitude of we aren't good enough.

Now I don't think that this team was going to the SB but I don't think this team is so talent deprived that it couldn't at least win 7-9 games if things had of been handled differently.
