do you count ricky proehl, or do you only count dwayne jarrett because you started following the team in 2005?

Don't get cute with me, sugartits.

Was going to games in Clemson when you were still trying to get someone old enough to buy you beer.

keyshawn johnson did well, he was just an asshole

I see you stopped trying with the draft picks and had to go to WRs who made the pro bowl with other teams before coming to Carolina as a means to defend Hurney's ability to evaluate WRs.

Just saying.

they've only tried to seriously draft a WR twice.

Once was Keary Colbert who had a great rookie season.

The other was HIM.

I see you stopped trying with the "or brought in through FA" part of your argument as a means to why we should fire Hurney.

Just saying.

Bringing in a pro bowl who's health and evaluating potential talent are not the same.

Just saying.

As for Keyshawn, Hurney admitted that was a mistake by cutting him immediately after drafting another mistake.

Just saying.

i mean when you're signing free agents you can only go on A. what they've done in the past and B. how you think they'll fit in your system.

I'm not exactly sure what you are trying to say here. But I will say that when bringing in FAs, 9 times out of 10, it's a temporary fix and not a long term solution. Which has been the case with Hurney and FA WRs. He's always look for a long-term solution to WRs in the draft. And he's failed miserably.

That's my opinion. Hurney should go, now's the time to do it since we're dumping Fox as well.

You don't think Hurney should be fired. You think he's done a good job with the QB & WR positions (I still don't see it). But that's your opinion.

I ready to go to other threads, so I'll leave it there.

The only reason it's a huge problem if you can't evaluate draft talent at a position is if you're unwilling to remedy those issues through other means. There are no GMs that are perfect at drafting all positions, but the good ones aren't afraid of patching holes through any means necessary.

Is there a particular GM you are after out there...? Or is this just a "anyone would be better than Hurney" response...?

I don't think Hurney has done well with WR or (in recent years) with QB. However, I think part of that is the coaches here, and part of it is that he may just not be the best at drafting WRs. I do not think that fault earns him a firing. You do. Oh well.
