Chris Morris

Hi All, new to your forum. Just wanted to pop in and ask you guys how Chris Morris is working out. I can see that not many of you are real high on him. Well, I've been a Raiders fan for 29 years. I felt that Chris Morris was one of the best guys on our roster--was AMAZED when he got cut. The excuse was: he didn't fit into the "system". I guess that means the "system" of LOSING!! In 2009, he beat Samson Satele (a 12 year vet and Pro Bowl center) for the starting job at center and played GREAT. Only reason he didn't keep the position is because he had to move to LG to cover for Robert Gallery when he went down (AGAIN) with injury. I don't think Gallery has ever played more than 8-10 games in a season and Chris spent 3-4 years (I think) filling in for him---another 'perk' to having Chris on the roster. I think a lot of Chris's stats might look a little skewed because the first 3 years of his career he wasn't a "starter" but logged A LOT of time on the field covering for Gallery (who is always, always, always injured).

I have never gotten to see a complete Panthers game (yet) but from what I've see, Chris could be a BIG improvement to your O-line--depending on your "system" (Just my opinion). I think he's very good at Center--able to read defenses/blitz and quarter back the O-line. If you want to see his run blocking, check out the game against the Chargers on opening day, 2009.

So, anyway.....what do you guys think of him so far? Has he gotten into any games yet?

Obviously, I'm a Chris Morris fan--and now a new Panthers fan. I can't watch the game today but I'll be rooting for the Panthers to kick the crap out of Tamps Bay. Go Panthers!!!
