From Darin: Panthers getting numbers back

We saw that already. Tampa. Decent protection. Good run game. Jimmy couldn't get anything going.

at some point the excuses for Jimmy have to stop. Even St. Pierre....a horrible QB got something going before his implosion late. I can handle Jimmy looking bad. Again, I get he is a rookie and I understand what the Carolina offense is. Still, he hasn't shown anything. Other Panther QBs have had moments at least.

You're touting Moore too much, Clausen too little. People said he couldn't complete passes over 20 yards, he had 3 against TB. Here's something...3rd down conversions of 6 or more. that's something he's shown for me.

No. Just saying Moore would mix in moments of good w/ his horrific play. Moore would occassionally make a play. Something to believe in. You could go into a game knowing that if Moore couldn't elimiate the bad.....he could actually play and be a threat. That is all. Jimmy is a different QB....don't want him to be like a Matt Moore.

Jimmy just should have shown something more than he has at this point. Even in this bad scenario and as a rookie.....he hasn't shown enough not to start catching more heat.

I think he's playing for his job, I mean if we go 3-3 or so in the upcoming games, we would no longer have the #1 pick and in order for us to do that he'll have to excel. So if he can do that, then I'd stick with him since we'd be out of Luck. (POW)

If we go 0-6 with him or he can't manage to stay healthy, then we'll have the top pick and will get Luck if he declares, Peterson if no one will trade with us and if they will, maybe Cam Newton and someone else.

Interestingly enough, does anyone remember Cam Newton? He played for us a couple years ago, a safety.

Pierre got something going? Gettis blew by a DB in single coverage and gave St. Pierre an incredibly easy throw. Then he proceeded to take us out of the game all by himself in 11 seconds with horrible, horrible decisions. That throw saved him from looking like a scrub instead of a journeyman. What did he do other than that to impress you?

You can't discredit Clausen for hitting Jonathan Stewart on a busted coverage while St. Pierre hits Gettis blowing by a DB. Clausen got something going too, he also played well enough to keep us in the game. St. Pierre didn't.

Mike Goodson was his leading reciever for crying out loud!! How is he not Captain Checkdown? Clausen hit 7 different receivers his last start.

I've seen two quarterbacks play "well" enough for the Panthers to remain in the game in the 4th the last two weeks. One team pulled away with a score from Caddilac Williams. The other team pulled away with scores from Ray Lewis and Dawan Landry.

We can break bread on any other QB I don't care who but not St. Pierre. No sir. He's not better than Clausen.

I agree with you. It's hard.

In other news, atleast starting the other team's fantasy defense every week is leading a resurgence in my fantasy leagues.

I was lucky enough to get baltimore last week and it paid off, but someone caught on and picked up cleveland's d right when I went to swap them out, on the other hand, its always a good idea to take the other teams TE, we can't cover TE's worth a poo, right now I got vernon davis but I'm thinking of going after ben watson knowing delhomme likes to target TE's....

I think Clausen would have done exactly what St. Pierre did minus the TD throw and 2 INTs. Clausen just provides zero offense. D will get run over this week by Hillis....much like the Tampa game. Leave a D on the field b/c of a lack of offense and big back is gonna make them pay.

Clausen totally missed LaFell once on a simmilar play to St. Pierre/Gettis. But Clausen's last start was like night and day to his other starts. Night and Day to St. Pierre too.

In simmilar situations Clausen put up 16 points and St. Pierre 13. How does Clausen generate no offense?

The offense didn't leave the D out to dry due to lack of offense in the tampa game. We got run over instantaneously 1st half and I'm pretty sure the TOP battle favored us in that half too. So it wasn't the offenses fault the D just sucked that day.

Clausen actually helped keep the TOP somewhat decent and we had 9 first downs passing. We were 40% on 3rd down which is pretty good. He spread the ball around. The D got run over.

St. Pierre we were 1 of 13 on 3rd down, 3 1st downs passing, and we got destroyed in the TOP battle. The D got lit up this time.

Clausen has looked shellshocked at times and he's made some bad throws. But he's been limiting his mistakes and I really appriciate that from a rookie QB. He looked wayyyyy better against tampa.

I said this earlier before but Cleveland if all the variables from the last few weeks hold is his big test. No excuses.

Stats don't tell the whole story but no way was St. Pierre the better choice Sunday.
