Comparing one-win Carolina Panthers teams

(By Darin Gantt, [email protected]) It took just two seasons for the 2001 Carolina Panthers to put a 1-15 season behind them and create a Super Bowl run.p/So while the current Panthers team's a less-miserable 1-9 heading into Sunday's game at Cleveland, there are those who see signs of a turnaround more manifest with this club than the previous version.

The 2001 team would kick this team's ass. Not because of talent but because they were a more competitive team. I think 2010 team has more potential except the defensive line obviously. If Fox would have stepped his game up then this team would be much better.

I think Matt Moore and Clausen can be starters in this league but both of them have been set up to fail. The 2010 team is lacking talent in a few positions. However the biggest thing they are missing is focus, fire, and confidence.

if the 2010 can make it through the season without the wheels falling off then they will be way better than the 2001.

I remember the team started to falter after that extra bye week. Things felt different.

The thing that really sucks is that after 2001 the casual fans abandoned ship for years. Since most of my friends are casual fans I felt so alone. Dark times.
