Why Did Fox Move To Tampa Defenses

In 06 it started to get put in place. This zone coverage and just rushing mainly 4. Yea we always had a powerful front 4, but we still blitzed from time to time. And we used to play man and bump and run. Gamble and Lucas was all over the field covering opposite teams best WR. 05 was the last year we did that

Now we play 5-10 yards off and just run a zone with everybody staying in the same place

Same thing Tampa being doing for years. Then we hired Meeks who run the same system. That just shows you, like I've said, Mike runs Fox defense. There will be no changes this season

Why??? What made Fox see the best way to go that route

My only problem is that Fox doesn't know when to adapt or make changes when necessary. I do have a problem with just rushing 4 most of the time. But if the front 4 is that good, its ok. But we dont have the same front 4 so we gotta blitz. We dont

Far as the coverage, I dont like it all, no matter what. I liked our 05 man to man, bump and run scheme

This is the same defense we played since 2002.

Does anyone remember Caper's zone blitzing?? How new it was in 1995?

:leaving:

which, I'm sure, people somehow remember as man defense.

We've always been zone under fox. We were zone under Seifert. We were zone under Capers. Teams just don't play that much man defense, and when they do, it's because they're sending 7 or because they're doubling a guy and don't respect any of the other options. Man just isn't something this league plays that much.

    • JJ Jansen not being on this list proves that it is shite.
    • 2025 NFL Rank: Predicting top 100 players for this season - ESPN I'll save you the click- 0 Panthers in the top 100. A couple of former Panthers and a hand full of "draft- What-If's" on the list. If this nothing else, this type of list shows the down stream impact of terrible player personnel and scouting that was in place here for years.
    • Lots of names being added to the cuts. Some names that pop to me for one reason or another (not that the Panthers should sign them, just that they stood out to me)... QB Tyler Huntley (CLE) QB Adrian Martinez (NYJ) QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson (PHI) RB Ameer Abdullah (SF) WR Zach Pascal (NYG) WR Equanimeous St. Brown (SF) TE Matt Sokol (BUF) TE Jaheim Bell (NE) TE Tre' McKitty (HOU) C Jim Morrissey (NYG) DL Morgan Fox (ATL) ILB Khaleke Hudson (TEN) OLB Kenny Willekes (PIT) OLB Cam Gill (MIN) CB Zy Alexander (BUF) CB O'Dell Fortune (NYG) CB Dicaprio Bootle (DET) CB Lamar Jackson (ATL) S K'Von Wallace (NYG) S Shiloh Sanders (TB) DB Lewis Cline (PHI) DB Major Burns (CHI) DB Josh Thompson (ATL) K Caden Davis (PIT)   A few former Panthers' on that list (Fox, Hudson, Gill, Bootle, Jackson).
