So, it has apparently taken me this long to realize that I have this problem...

I have always considered myself a very picky eater. It is a running joke among a lot of my friends and family that I'm the "chicken tenders and fries" type of guy, regardless of what restaurant we're going to...

The thread about working out before work got me thinking, especially with how bad I have been feeling physically as of late, that I need to start eating a lot better and being a lot more active...

Growing up, and even still, I am allergic to a lot of foods... This obviously was/is a major factor in how I have been conditioned towards food... I see things as "safe" instead of safe and healthy...

Thinking about what I eat now is actually pretty sad... I could probably list every single thing I eat on one sheet of notebook paper, and the only variance would be the restaurant it comes from or the package it is wrapped in...

My diet really doesn't include any vegetables aside from starches or beans, rarely any fruits even though I love most of them, and is rich in fried/greasy things... It is a joke in a way, but it isn't really funny anymore...

I think I'm going to try and start fixing this, as I think it will make me feel/function better on a daily basis...

I don't know why it took so long for this revelation and for me to want to try and correct it... I just hope I'm not too far gone!

I changed the way I ate about 4 years ago. Good thing was, I ate everything anyway, so it wasn't that hard to do without some foods. The hardest thing is still fighting the urge to eat a steak or a hamburger once or twice a week, down to once or twice a year now...very sad. But I feel a lot better and have more energy...and man that steak or burger is fantastic now.

One other thing, since I started eating healthier, I have fewer stomach aches hardly any anymore.

I have found that people who know something is wrong with them tend not to go to the Dr because they are afraid of the truth. Knew a woman once whose mother knew something was up, waited a few years to get it checked out, basically when she couldn't walk. Found out she had advanced cancer and she died like 2 months later. Sad thing is if she would have gotten checked out when she first noticed something, she would probably still be alive here 7 years later.

    • Smitty is a legendary footballer player but this has really damaged his reputation as a person. You don’t cheat on a woman who has been with you through everything and gave you children and especially not with another man’s wife. He doesn’t even have any remorse about it, acting like nothing happened.
    • That's a big ass center! Is there any center in the NFL that weighs 320 lbs? Also, we drafted a center last season. Not sure this guy is a center even if he took reps at the senior bowl. Looks like a guard to me unless his build is better suited to a lesser weight. In a zone scheme centers need to be able to move quickly.
    • The majority of NFL draft picks don't play all too many snaps lined up directly across from another NFL player, and I don't think many people really realize this. Unless you play a game against one of the 2-4 schools that are putting half their lineup into the NFL each season, most teams who have multiple draft picks, MIGHT only have 2-4 draft picks in any given season. Some skill positions get around 30 players drafted each year, other positions are in the teens to low 20's.  With at least a handful of them coming from non power conference schools too.  So the odds for any WR or CB to get too many games lined up directly against another future draft pick is pretty low. The better odds are that they get lined up against a future NFL player, i.e. a junior or senior WR getting lined up against a freshman or sophomore DB who will get drafted in a couple of years. Then if you take it one step further and look for players who actually play in the NFL and make a difference.   You're basically looking at players drafted in the first 3 rounds of the draft, so a little less than 100 players a year, spread out across all the positions and conferences (which in today's massive conferences, teams have even lower odds of player the teams with more NFL players than ever before).
