Wasn't Softli responsible for some terrible drafts here in Carolina? Yeah, most definitely a Rooney Rule candidate..

More than that. He ran the Rams into the ground too. They parted ways with him and now they're on an upswing.

When I heard the Niners were interviewing Softli, I said "seriously?"

Good news! I found three viable candidates for the head coaching spot:

Larry Coyer: Defensive Coordinator, Indianapolis Colts (Ron Meeks successor)

Larry Kirksey: Wide Receiver Coach, Houston Texans (coaches Andre Johnson)

Larry Coker: Head Coach, University of Texas at San Antonio (former national championship winning head coach of the Miami Hurricanes)

Go for it, Niners

    • The aversion to tying up too much money in the ground game around when it’s what’s winning us games is crazy to me. I get letting Rico walk if you think he’s easily replaceable but I don’t see many people arguing that, just applying an arbitrary salary cap based on what we think RBs are currently worth. I’d rather be stuck with Hubbard as an overpaid backup (not the worst one to have, mind you) than lose out on the most productive player on the offense personally.
    • Why do people keep saying things like “it’s not Young’s fault we spent so much to draft him”? Who cares if it’s his fault?  Nobody is saying send him to jail or anything.  People aren’t talking about blame for the decision to draft him, they’re talking about how bad he is as a QB and how we’d be much better with even an average QB.  Pointing out that we sunk a lot of resources into drafting him isn’t invalidated because he didn’t make that decision himself. Doesn’t matter whose fault that was, he’s still not playing like a QB who was drafted at all, much less one that cost two firsts, two seconds and a #1 WR.
