Earth may soon have a second sun

The red supergiant star Betelgeuse is getting ready to go supernova, and when it does Earth will have a front-row seat. The explosion will be so bright that Earth will briefly seem to have two suns in the sky.

Of course the term "soon" is a very relative term.

So sometime in the next million years we'll have a few weeks with 24/7 daylight. That'll be pretty awesome and pretty annoying at the same time.

I'm pretty sure they're already doing that at the north & south poles.

Lets hope that it's already exploded. Because it's gonna take the light 640 years to get here.
